How does a pawnshop work?
Pawnbrokers lend money on items of value including gold, diamond jewelry, musical instruments, televisions, tools, household items, etc. These items maintain their value over a reasonable period of time. Usually, loans are small, averaging between $75 and $150, although they can be as small as $20 or as high as several thousand dollars depending on the value of the collateral item.

Do most Hometown Jewelry & Loan customers lose their merchandise?
NO! On average, 70 to 80 percent of all loans are repaid. Repeat customers make up most of our business, similar to any other lending or retail establishment. Many customers often borrow against the same items over and over again. It is the choice of the customer whether they elect to repay the loan.
This doesn’t look like my Father’s pawnshop. Why?
The image of a dark seedy pawnshop frequented by derelicts and criminals is long gone. Hometown Jewelry & Loan is family-owned and operated with over 50 years in the jewelry business. Our goal is to provide friendly and professional customer service in a clean, safe and comfortable environment.
