Oh boy! What has it been, seven years of eBay already? that doesn't seem possible! I am still in the honeymoon phase with eBay, I still love eBaying like the first thrilling sales made me fall for eBay. I listed what I wanted to throw away and someone gave me money for it! What to do? List more stuff! Now I list all sorts of stuff. I sell Maori jade carved pendants from New Zealand, Russian Imports and misc items. I also have a soft spot for Victoria's Secret and Bath and Body Works. :) I keep my eye out for things to purchase for the purpose of listing them on ebay, I love resale shops, garage sales, antique shows and bargin discount shopping.
Some of the items I have sold:
8-03 SOLD: A vintage gameboard, bought for $1 at a resale shop, sold on eBay for $100.99, two bidders fighting for it, the winning bidder was so excited to get it, he thanked me again and again! I couldn't believe it, I actually had it next to the garbage can for 3 years before I decided to list. (They can't all be like that, but it was nice!)
4-05 SOLD: Three Czechoslovakian antique fishnet floats, purchased at a resale shop for $15 each. Held in my personal collection for 7 years and sold in seperate auctions, closing at approx $150, $170 and $180, SWEET!
10-03 SOLD: Coach Keychain, mini purse style. Purchased at a thrift store for $3.00 and sold on eBay for over $26 bucks!!! It pays to know what you are looking at.
4-05 SOLD: 1978 Ford F150 truck, in need of much work, purchased on eBay for $1600 and sold locally three weeks later for $2800, basically I knew what someone was looking for and purchased the truck for the purpose of "flipping" it, or reselling it for a profit. Important to KNOW you would have a buyer for something that big!
2-06 SOLD: 1979 Ford F-150 lifted cherried out truck. Purchased on eBay for $4000 used by me for 10 months and then sold on eBay for $8800 :) (I know longer make these kind of purchases)
1-03 BOUGHT and SOLD on eBay, Large mixed lot of costume jewelry, purchased for approx $95, I sold many pieces alone and then some in groupings, and finally whatever was left in a lot, my selling prices added up to over $1000! and I kept a 14kt gold pendant that had sapphires, rubies, emeralds and pearls for myself. (hmm, where did I put that anyway?)
3-05 2 out of print books. Retailed at time of purchase (late 80's) for $7.95 each and both sold for $64 and $66 and change.
12-05 Purchased a number of fur coats on eBay in Feb 05 and resold them in Dec of 05, when people purchase them for more money. Raccoon, purchased for $42 and sold for $110, Mink, purchased for $235 and sold for $545, Curly Lamb swing coat, purchased for $58 and sold for $125.
2-06 Leather boots, purchased new on eBay for $25 worn for 3 months and resold on ebay as used for $45 :)
8-06 Bought and sold various books and DVDs on ebay, several resold for twice what I paid for them, I did not lose money on the grouping and was able to cover my ebay and paypal fees. My half.com account is also honeypotbear if you want to see my current available inventory of media items.
many things I have purchased on eBay and then sold them on eBay when I was done with them. Books, movies, furniture, clothes and whatever else you could think of!
Some of the things I collect (however I have become more careful in my quest to downsize):
Antique glass fishnet float bouy thinga-ma-gigs, pretty glass balls in assorted colors and sizes, I got my first one 12 years ago, actually I got 7 that first time! Totally underpriced even for the time, but it pays to shop antique stores in the middle of nowhere. For some reason I have a thing for maritime stuff, don't care for being IN the water but I LOVE being on boats and near water. Anchors are one of my personal symbols.
Antique apothacary jars, well collect is kinda hard, I have two, but I am always looking for a pretty one.
Religious prints, framed or unframed. Ok, everyone thinks this ones weird, but I like the peacfulness of them. Antique religious book plate prints. Christian art that stems from my love of Michelangelo's creations and visits of European churches.
Victorian jewelry, gold and silver, hey, antique jewelry, get more bling for your buck. Who wants Tiffany's when you can have a unique diamond victorian ring for MUCH LESS.
Heck, I just love jewelry :)
My personal symbols: Crosses, anchors, lambs, infinity, faith-hope-charity, bears, German Shepherds, Poodles, interlocked hearts, heart with an arrow thru it, bow and arrow, arrows, quiver of arrows, robins, compasses, strawberries, angels and St. Christopher.
Mommy to a German Shepherd. I had a reacurring dream of one for a number of my teen years and after researching breeders for a year I finally made the leap and got my first one :) He is VERY SMART, VERY HANDSOME and VERY attached to his mama.
What am I up to now? I am working with a friend to sell of much of his collection of stuff. Including but not limited to Michigan Football Memorabilia items, law enforcement items, Magic Memorabilia, and lots of this and that. Gotta keep checking back to see what I have listed this week :)
add me to your favorites :)
