I am a stay at home mom of 2 lovely little girls, one in 3rd grade and the other in 4th grade. That explains the kids part. We also have 3 horses, and are a horse crazy family together. My girls are members of the United States Pony Club, and we are proud to have our own local chapter as of Sept. of 2005. We also have a varing number cats and 2 dogs, one which thinks she is my 3rd daughter... I sell on ebay as a way to be at home with my girls, and so far, while it's been a pinch at times, it has worked out.
While I sell mostly glassware, you never know what you may find on my auctions, maybe some nice things my girls have outgrown, a bit of tack...so I can buy new stuff for the horses...or even a tool or so my hubby has decided to replace with a bigger, more macho model...
Packing, Shipping and Payment Options
First, I ship mostly glassware items and have learned to pack with care. I do not find a single layer of bubble wrap to be acceptable packaging for glassware! [and shame on any seller that does!] You will usually find your glass piece packaged with bubble wrap, then newspaper and then another layer of bubble wrap. While not totally "bullet proof" it is as close as I have found while still keeping package weight down.
A note on my "handling fees". I charge only for aprox. the amount of bubble wrap I think I will use, nothing else.
Shipping: I ship via Priority mail for most items, and please do not ask me to ship UPS. They are actually more expensive than priority if you want their 3 day shipping, and often their standard rate and Priority are fairly close...in other words, they are no bargain, and I live a long way from the UPS drop off.
And last but not least...payment methods. I now only accept Paypal. I decided to go with using Paypal exclusively after having several buyers feel that paying on time did not apply to them and receiving money orders many days late. I never accept checks under any conditions. Sorry, bad experiences with a few buyers affect us all.
Well, that takes care of the details. Questions are welcome, both from buyers and sellers. I have pretty fair knowledge of the 50's era glassware, and am always willing to help you ID a piece if I can. [I suck at pottery, most art glass and the really old stuff...so if you can help me with those items, please do!]After all, the better all of us look, the better reputation we will have as Ebay sellers. We are all in this together!
