This is a Wardriving / Netstumbling Kit! Includes everything you need to help you find all the local WiFi hotspots. The Dual mode Buffalo WLI-CB-G54S 802.11g/b PCMCIA card, the 5 foot external antenna pigtail cable, and a 14 dB gain Cantenna! 2. The External Antenna Cable:

5 Foot (60 inch) external antenna pigtail cable  - Proprietary Orinoco connector to N-Type Male to connect the external Cantenna to the Buffalo WLI-CB-G54S PCMCIA 802.11g/b card

3. 14 dB gain Cantenna:

Details about the construction and dimensions of this Cantenna can be found Here.   All you have to do is connect the antenna cable, and this directional antenna really boosts your signal. both receive and transmit. This Cantenna has a diameter of 106mm which is just about right for a 2.4 Ghz waveguide type Cantenna just perfect for 802.11 work!

Here is an interesting article found on the popular "Homebrew Antenna Shootout" website, from which I quote:

"The Performance Summary:
The results surprised me! In our test, the Flickenger Pringles can did a little better than my modified Pringles design. Both did no better than the Lucent omnidirectional. Now this is just on raw signal strength, noise rejection due to directivity still makes a directional antenna a better choice for some uses even if there is no gain benefit. The waveguides [Cantenna] all soundly trounced the Pringles can designs. I mean they stomped them into the ground on signal strength - as much as 9 dBm better. Every three dB is a doubling in power - that's three doublings (8x increase)!"
