Aanii! (Hi!)

It's been a busy year, and here I thought retirement would be so relaxing! I wonder how I ever found time to go to work. I'm still working on learning Anishinaabemowin, the language of the Ojibwe, Odawa and Potawatomi people of the Great Lakes, although I have been forced to slow down the pace a lot. No more 700 mile commutes for the time being.

I'm still working a little bit as a consultant and teacher, developing programs to educate health care professionals about American Indian health care issues. The latest development is re-opening my store, Good Things to Share, with a focus on books and records. Reading and music are such great pleasures, it will be wonderful to share my special collection with you all.

I've been working on renovating the house and have redone the bathrooms and kitchen. Once I get some things listed, I ship really fast, so you can shop with confidence. I do travel a bit, but I usually manage to keep in daily contact.

Clothing I sell may be new or gently used. All items are clean in accordance with eBay's policies. I carefully inspect the garments and try to catch any flaws and state them in the auction.

Our books and records will be shipped either Media Mail or Priority, depending on your wishes, and availability of Media Mail to your area. I ship fast, but cannot control the package after it leaves my hands.

ISBN Numbers
Many of the books in my collection pre-date the issuance of ISBN numbers. What does that mean? Only books printed since 1966 have an ISBN.

The ISBN# (International Standard Book Number)originated in 1966 to identify book publishers and their books. The original 9-digit numbers were updated to 10 digits in 1970, and to 13 digits in 2007. Each revision or new edition of a book will get a different ISBN. Reprints keep the same number.

What do the numbers mean?
1. For the 13 digit numbers, the prefix 978 or 979
2. Group or country identifier which identifies a national or geographic grouping of publishers;
3. Publisher identifier which identifies a particular publisher within a group;
4. Title identifier which identifies a particular title or edition of a title;
5. Check digit is the single digit at the end of the ISBN which validates the ISBN. The letter X indicates the number 10.
