HELLO
Welcome to my "ME" page.
Let me take a moment to tell you about how my name, Importedpork, came about. For years, my brothers-in-law have always teased me about my being "FRESH OFF OF THE BOAT FROM as PORTUGAL", "JUST AN IMPORT", as a result, the nickname Importedpork came to be!! How funny that one of them has choosen to become an "Import" too, now residing in the United States. My, how the world turns :).
I have been working with wood for most of my life and several years ago, while looking for a new hobby, I found the art of woodcarving.
My wife and I started a business here in Ontario, Canada called "STICKIT". You can visit us at www.stickitcreations.com (link below). Our website has been mainly for display we conduct much of our sales attending craft shows in our neck of the woods.
I live in Oshawa, Ontario with my beautiful wife and 3 wonderful girls aged 15, 13 and our 5 year old terror :).

We are devoted to producing functional, rustic objects imbedded with artistic merit and technical integrity.
The nature of the tree’s twisted branches and irregular forks, helps to direct the design of each piece.
The majority of our product is made from fallen trees harvested in the Muskoka area. When some people see a fallen tree branch or a scrap of lumber they see just that, scrap wood, I hate to see any wood go to waste and so am lucky enough to envision one of our products. I use a natural Varathane or Shellac finish, applied to each piece after a thorough sanding. The finished piece is smooth and durable.
I use simple carving tools, acrylic paints and what I believe to be tremendous craftsmanship to turn plain wood into “a unique, truly one of a kind, and yet useable piece of art”.
We are members of the Ontario Crafts Council.
