Hello and thank you for stopping in!
My name is Bev and I'm happy you found time to find out a little about me.
For some that had visited my old me page you already know how I started my fasination with art in general
through hours and hours as a child watching my oldest sister draw.
She is a wonderful artist and my first inspiration at art.
I still can close my eyes and remember those hot summer days running our feet through the cool St. Augustine grass
while swinging back and forth in the tire swing at our lake house. The sky so blue with the big puffs of clouds back when
everything seemed bigger than life.
That's where I began my journey into the fasinating world of my own imagination.
My sister could and still can draw anything.
I have always been a competitive person I suppose just about all my life. Not in the sense of having to out do anyone,
more in the aspect of just wanting to be able to do it too.
She would draw and I would watch. I guess I was about 7 or so when I really remember those hot summer days while she
laid in the grass and drew the old cabin like houses at the cut-off. That was the name of the little lake house area where
our parents had our little cabin for the weekends in the summer.
My passion was to draw like her and I am happy to say that I did create my own unique style and absolutely loved
to draw all my life.
My two son's never owned a store bought coloring book that I remember. I used to spend hours with them drawing them
pictures that they wanted and they would color.
When the internet came around it didn't to much interest me because of my career and just family life.
At work I tended to concentrate only on what I needed to be on the net for.
I have a friend that is a computer engineer and he asked me one day why I never took my art to the net. I really had no
clue what he meant and I sat and we surfed. I became so fasinated with it all I couldnt drink it all in fast enough.
How Did They DOOOOOOOOO That?
Was my biggest question! And so my competive edge kicked in. I wanted to not only know I wanted to do it to!
And so began my journey in to the wonderful world of graphic web design.
OD my computer engineer friend gave me my first graphic program and off I went.
Since that time I have added and re-added and added again to my collection but still prefer fireworks mx to any program
I have. PSP is great so is Adobe but I guess we all just find our niche. I have a habit of working in all of them.
Adobe, Ulead, PSP, Flash but Fireworks is my tool of choice for 90% of my work done.
If I haven't bored you yet I want to share with you where I get some of my work that I do.
Most people that are designers will not do this. TRUST ME!! :o)
I am very confident in what I do and I do not mind sharing. It tells you a little bit about who I am and isn't that what
an about me page is for? To tell you a little bit about me!
First I want to say in this sharing mood I am in ..is that this is not an easy job. It is a labor of love though and you
can believe when a design goes up it was definately LABOR and I LOVED it. But the fact is it takes hours and hours to
achieve the graphics you see that are in my store.
I do design many of my pieces from my own drawings and enhance them with vintage art from old postcards, and many I would like
to say as far as roses go come from that. Vintage art.
I have been recently blessed to have a wonderful friend that has allowed me rights to use her cd of vintage work
that she has purchased over the years and combined in a beautiful package. She does not allow anyone else those rights
as far as reproduction in to internet graphics for resale but she does allow them for personal use and I will add a link
at the bottom of my page to her website but don't go jumping to the bottom of the page yet!!! :o)
She also sells vintage prints for your home to frame and you should visit her store on ebay - victoriancottagerose.
She is my sister in Christ and one of the most wonderful people you would ever like to come across.
I have literally 100's if not thousand of vintage roses to work with and I can tell you that when I get finished with them
they rarely look like the original. This is another reason I do not mind sharing my sources as to where some of my work
comes from.
Lue - delicatebeauty on ebay offers a beautiful cd of vintage photographs that you might like to look at for old vintage
prints to put in frames to enchance your cottage home too. :o)
If you ever look at my feedback to see what I buy you will know where the rest of my roses come from.
I am an avid buyer of Joye Hinton - 3jvh on ebay. Owning about 70 or so of her pieces she also has given me exclusive
permission to use her roses in my designs.
These wonderful artists have way to much trust in me! Which makes me push harder ( that competitive edge thing again)
to make sure that their art stays beautiful while turning it into a graphic design that will enhance the lover of pink, roses
and beauty for their auctions or web design.
My home is full to the brim of vintage pieces and inspires me to design.
I work hours and hours to bring one small rose to life from a vintage piece in my home. Or one of Joye's pieces. And am
thrilled to be blessed with so many ebay sellers out there that find my work to be that special something they want to use
to present their auctions with.
I am blessed truely by God that I am able to do this and my mission is Painting eBay Pretty - One Template at a time.
I believe all people that sell on ebay have a passion for what they do and there are so many talented people out there
and every single day I feel so blessed to be a part of this exciting world and to be able to talk to so many talented
ebay sellers.
I see so much passion in the work displayed on ebay from so many sellers I am just in awe of it, and I want to thank each
and every seller that crosses my path and decides to help me Paint ebay Pretty by purchasing a template, storefront, logo,
or web design from me.
I want to also thank the wonderful friends I have met here and believe me there are so many I cant count them!
I'm so excited about it.. I personally want to thank Bill Gates for opening a window to the world so that I could cross
paths with all these wonderful people that I would never have met with out the internet!
I want to thank my sister who has sold on ebay for many years who one day said.. Bev would you make me a
template to use on ebay for my auctions and my journey on ebay began.
Most of all.. I want to thank God for everything in my life and for letting me share my work with you.. no matter where
you are in the world.
Always remember that it is all of you that makes me able to be here. I am only a template maker.
Blessings,
-Bev
