About Myself
My name is Iris Mishly, I am 37 years old, married, mother to 2 children, living in a small moshav in the mid-north of Israel.
Creativity was always my strong point, I studies fashion design, proffesional artistic makeup, and today I work both as a web-Designer and as a polymer clay artist.
3 years ago, one of my friends invited me to a short art lesson to introduce me to the polymer clay and I was caught by the polymeric virus.
I am continuously working and thinking of new ideas of using the polymer clay, and mostly I am using the MILLEFIORI technique which is the most colorful, enjoying and has the endless possibilities for my art.

I am inspired by the colorful rainbow (and that is the reason I called my business name ARCOIRIS in Spanish "rainbow"), I love the basic colors and use them a lot in my beads, hamsas, jewelry and accessories.
I am always exploring new methods of work and the internet is my best friend for that matter, In the 2 years I am writting a column in an Israeli polymer clay forum, this column is for all polymer clay hobbyists (starters and advanced). I introduce new techniques, new artists, an interesting piece of art or just plain inspiration. Here in Israel the polymer clay community is growing and I hope that in few years we will establish our own local guild.
Both my students and I constantly learning from the top artists which come to Israel and teach us their techniques: Donna Kato, Sarah Shriver, Marie Segal, Julie Picarello, Jana Benzon, Christi Friesen, and more.
In the next years I hope to become a more established artist and teacher and begin selling my artwork on a more wide-ranging basis. I would like to continue experimenting with the polymer clay, design new art, new ideas, continue writing articles in art magazines, and teach more people about this magical material called polymer clay.
