Mohair and human hair wigs.
In the 1980s while collecting antique dolls, I saw many antique and reproduction dolls wearing modacrylic wigs and sometimes in styles that were completely wrong for the doll that was portreying them.
All I could think was "that doll would be transformed by the proper hair, in an age appropriate style" and so by 1994 we had come out with our "antique style" wigs.
We use mainly human hair and mohair (ocassionally using modacrylic hair for new doll wigs.
Antique and reproduction dolls are best in human hair and mohair wigs of which they really wore.
I use many sources for my vintage, antique styles and by now have more than a few copycats.
My take is: its the best form of flattery if someone feels a need to copy us we must be doing it right after all our goal is to copy the old wig masters and get the right look on your doll.
When we fist started selling wigs no one was making the long tails wigs at all.
I saw Bravot had a mat wig with a similar look, but it was not conformed to the actual antique wigs I was finding. I was seeing these long wigs on antique museum dolls, in antique catalouges etc. so we made the first reproduced long tails wig. I am happy to say we made it the same way as the ones I was seeing on the Simon Halbig and Kestner dolls with individual tails.
There are several wigs I photographed from museum dolls original wigs, Many antique doll jobber catalouges came available for sale on Ebay in its early days. These circulars are absolutley wonderful and show actual wig styles that could be purchased for the dolls of the era (those wigs selling by boxes of 1 dozen). These catalouges were distributed to the factories and companies that actually wigged and dressed the antique dolls.
So the styles I copied are the actual wigs that were worn (from the horses mouth so to speak).
I never stop looking for original old styles and add new antique styles often, while retiring styles that may not have had much interest. Keeping it fresh and fun so you never know what little gems may come up at Jakelz (jakzjewelz).

Shipping practices:
U.S. Shipping days = Monday, Wednesday and Fridays unless they fall on a holiday.
Overseas shipping days are Monday and Friday.
Overseas shipping: This is the sorest point for many overseas customer. Canada and United Kingdom may ship via first class mail under 4 pounds whereas all other countries ship trackable (more expensive mail) I am in agreement with you! all items under 4 pounds should be able to go first class (more affordable) mail, but sadly other countries do not provide tracking through the customs number and Paypal edicts that I have to ship a trackable method to be covered under the protection program that I pay for. If you have a more creative way around that please let me know. So all countries at this time other than U.K. and Canada must ship secure mail = Priority international or Registered first class mail
