In my old age I have taken an interest in animal rescue. I have dogs. These guys come from shelters, dropped off on the side of the road, dropped off in my yard, given to me by people who can't care for their pet anymore and other places. A friend of mine has mainly cats and some of the other rescue people have a mixture of both. There are rescues for horses, birds and other creatures as well. There are so many great animals out there that are being put down because the shelters can only keep them so long and there are not enough people who come by to adopt.

Keeping an animal is a responsibility. The animals must be spayed or neutered to keep the population under control. They need their vaccines, health care, adequate food, shelter, water and love. Please consider adopting instead of buying a pet and save a life.
