HELLO! WELCOME TO MY ABOUT ME PAGE! My name is Jacqui Ellerton and I trade as Jac-Q-Lyn Bears, I live in Cheshire, England. I have been designing and making bears for over 10 years. My bear craze has turned in the last 9 years from an addictive hobby into a fulltime passion with hopefully some reward. I am probably best known for my wacky style of bears which have my usual tell tale signs eyelids, enamelled eyes, sculpted faces and paw pads, embellished with airbrushing and not forgetting droopy ears. My bear making passion has enabled me to travel to Japan demonstrating bear making within a large department store and also become one of the UK's largest suppliers of German mohair. This year I have been fortunate to win an URSA AWARD for one of my Toy-Box Treasures and have been featured in numerous teddy bear publications throughout my bear making career and also commissioned to make a bear for a TV advert for a very large American company. I always feel very honoured to be asked to make shop exclusives for specialist bear shops across the world, but I still get a great thrill when a collector chooses one of my bears to be added to their very special hug. For something that started out as a hobby has allowed me over 6 years ago to open my own specialist Teddy Bear shop with my husband Darren at the helm, in the historic town of Leek, Staffordshire.
