I collect postcards of my town ! I love the history that these small pieces of paper bring to life for me. I know when I acquire another card that I am holding something that was sold right here in Panama City many years ago and now it has come back home. I wonder about the folks that sent it. Were they future residents? regular vacationers? Passing thru? Local residents? Are they still living or.....? Of course, usually I'll never know, although I recently bought one that a friend of mine knew the sender back in the 60's. Neat ! I love to find cards of places here in town that I never knew existed and when I talk with older folks that are natives, they enjoy reminiscing about these places and I enjoy hearing all about it ! It's a "win-win" situation ! :) |

A Never-Ending Search.....
Of course, no matter how many cards a collector accumulates, there is ALWAYS ones waiting to be found or discovered. (Thankfully, postcards do not take up much space !)I only wish that my $$$$$$ was as limitless as the number of Panama City, FL postcards there seems to be !! But then again, if they were too easy to score, maybe it wouldn't be quite as much fun ! Thanks to all the sellers that make these cards available on EBAY ! |
