My Family

I am excited about the new addition to our family.  His name is Rambo.  He just turned 10 weeks old and weighs 2 1/2 pounds.

 Nike passed away at 2:45am on July 21, 2006 as I held him.  He was 9 1/2 years old. I was fortunate to have Nike in my life since he was 7 weeks old.  He tried so hard to hang on.  He will always be loved very much and mere words cannot describe how much he is missed.  The viewing was held Monday, July 24th 2006 at 3pm at the Angel View Pet Cemetery for those who wanted to say goodbye, private cremation ceremony followed.  I cannot imagine life without him, it is so hard.  There is a void in my heart that can never be filled.   Jasmine also misses Nike very much. 

I rescued another minpin in December 2006, his name is CJ short for Cracker Jack.  No one can or will ever replace Nike and CJ is not meant to do that.  CJ was a severely abused little guy who needed a good home. He was drastically underweight (only weighed 4 pounds and should weigh between 8-10 pounds) and he had been burned in several places with what looks like cigarette burns.  Most were old scars on his chest and groin area but some were still healing. He was so weak he couldn't stand up to eat out of a bowl. 

After having him for close to a year, I am happy to say all his burns are completely healed.   He has doubled his body weight (now weighs 8 pounds which is his ideal weight) and loves to play tug of war. His coat which was very light (I imagine that was due to malnutrition) when he arrived is now a deeper  healthy red color.  He has begun to trust a lot more and prances around like he owns the place.  Jas has helped a lot with his behavior and social training.  She corrects him a lot when he misbehaves in gentle dog ways that CJ understands.
