Hi! My name is Jenifer and I'm a quilting junkie. There, I've admitted it and I'm glad. Seriously, I have been sewing since I was a young girl, first mostly for myself and, later, after my husband and I had 3 children, clothing for them and their dolls. As the kids got older, I took a couple of quilting classes and I was hooked. Over the next period of years I learned as much as I could about the art and became pretty good at it along the way. Fast forward to 2001. A bricks and mortar quilt shop business became available and we bought it. Very quickly I went from hobby status to (hopefully) profitable enterprise. I instantly became a boss, teacher, salesperson, newsletter editor, advisor, and janitor. I very quickly learned to proficiently operate every model of Viking Sewing Machines, we were a dealer. Likewise, long arm quilting needed to be mastered because the store included a Gammill. I guess my favorite part of running the shop became teaching classes for almost everything to do with quilting. Over the years there were brand-new quilters just learning the basics and veterans looking to pick up a new technique. It made for many long days, but I enjoyed every minute. The store was about 2,000 sq. ft. chock full of fine fabrics, notions, thread, patterns, books, sewing machines, and shop models. I ran the store until August 2009, when we made a decision that the ever increasing rent, taxes, and hours had become too much. I ran a sale for the last 10 days and had the chance to say good-bye to many of my dear friends and customers and did sell a lot of inventory. There was, however, a lot left and that's how we have come to Ebay. Our original intent was to sell the remaining fabric and everything else and I would go back to quilting as a hobby. I find, though, that selling here involves so much less overhead that I can sell at discounted prices and still make a profit and keep doing what I love to do for quilters.
