ABOUT ME & THE BIRTH OF LOR-JEN'S
Hi and thanks for visiting my "ABOUT ME" page. I retired from the Chicago Board of Ed in June, 1999, and while recuperating from surgery I discovered AUCTIONS. Well that quickly ended my boredom! I had great fun and bid, bid and bid and when I won I paid, paid and paid! Until my husband got tired of the "Package Fairy" visiting almost daily and said, "enough, enough and enough!" Now he actually thinks that indirectly he's to blame for the fall of the dot.com industry!
I soon decided to try selling because I rationalized, if I made money I could afford to buy more! Deciding what to sell was fun. First I started with things I had around the house, things my 16 year old daughter was no longer interested in such as Beanie Babies, never worn clothes, etc. I even got a few items from my husband! But I wasn't quite satisfied and wanted my focus to be a bit narrower.
Since my favorite areas to browse were the home and garden categories I decided to start there and much to my surprise, everything did not sell immediately as I had hoped. Noticing that other auctions had links to online stores I decided that opening one would be a great place to display my inventory between sales. Trying out various names led to the idea of using my name along with my daughter's. Thus LOR-JEN'S
was born! I hope you will stop in for a visit soon.
