Welcome! If you're reading this then I can only assume you want to know more about Square1 Records and Books, or its storekeep. The storekeep, whom I shall now refer to as me or I, is a big fan of both music and literature. I also like garage and estate sales. I decided to combine the two and thus my eBAY store sprang into existence. I'm hoping, that one day, the store will bring in enough money to feed my two Great Danes. Some say I'm a dreamer...
In the musical category, Square1 primarily offers records and tapes along with a small selection of CD's.
The book section is currently a bit more robust, although the primary genres offered are science fiction, fantasy and a wide assortment of comics, sometimes referred to as graphic novels.
Square1 also offers a number of other items as well, including Collectible Card Games (CCG's), Video Tapes (VHS), and the ever popular miscellaneous items. So while our primary focus is on records and books, there is a good chance of finding other unique and interesting items. A good way to stay informed is to sign up for Square1's store newsletter. No, you won't get spammed with a bunch of junk. I send out a newsletter, roughly twice a month, in order to let my customers know about recent, or upcoming listings. If this is something you might be interested in, just click on the subsribe link in any of the stores listings. Yes, you will get the standard cheesy acknowledgment thanking you for subscribing, but future e-mails should be a bit more interesting.
One of the things that tended to irk me, when ever I was looking for items to buy on eBAY, was that many of the items had nothing more than a generic description. IE...if you were purchasing a record, it would state the title/artist and really nothing more. The listing might mention a scratch, but not how severe it was, what track it was located on and usually the item had not been play-tested. It was very frustrating, from a purchasing point of view, when I was forced to contact the seller for the most basic of information. In many cases my inquiries were met with the canned response telling me to see the listing. I learned a number of things from those experiences and thusly my items are well described. I will never refer a customer back to the listings and would not recommend doing business with anyone who does so. I recently began to play test every item in my store and found it to be very time-consuming. On the other hand, I did locate several faulty items and promptly removed them. Additionally, especially in the case of records, I can provide a more accurate description of the items playability, which many of my customers appear to appreciate. While I still have more testing to go before the tapes and records in my store are 100% play-tested, I find it is well worth the effort. I sincerely hope that my efforts will make your purchasing experience much more enjoyable. As always, feel free to contact Square1 with any question you might have regarding any item we sell. We'll be more than happy to answer any question you might have. Thanks for dropping in. Now, spin'em if ya gott'em.
