Welcome to my About Me page! I am Alaine, a Registered Nurse by profession, who also loves collecting and creating jewelry! I started on eBay back in 1998 looking for vintage rhinestone and crystal jewelry, my hobby. My husband is a musician and we have numerous musical instruments in the house, mostly guitars.
I decided to try creating jewelry from some of his guitar picks and found that there are many beautiful ones out there to choose from. I am always on the lookout for interesting picks. I like using mosaic ones and vintage or rare picks as well. The Daisy Rock company also makes a pretty bright pink guitar pick that has been very popular! I use Austrian made Swarovski crystals in my work because their crystals are unmatched in quality and brilliance. I have been creating guitar pick jewelry since April of 2004. I hope you enjoy looking at my handcrafted guitar pick jewelry and sometimes I also list vintage jewelry finds as well. Thanks for stopping by!
How to clean the Guitar Pick Jewelry:
I recommend that you use a mild non-abrasive cleaner to gently clean the jewelry I create. Mild soap and water to clean the jewelry and never use harsh chemicals. They could damage the silverplate or guitar picks. If you need to brighten up the silverplated earhooks or cable chain should they tarnish, use a mild foaming silver cream such as Wright's Silver Cream, available at Wal-Mart. Rub the cream only on the silverplated metal and rinse off with warm water. Don't worry if some gets on the rest of the earrings, it won't hurt them as long as you rinse it all off. Dry with a soft towel and store in a zip lock bag to prevent tarnishing. If you ever have any questions on how to take care of the jewelry I make, don't hesitate to e-mail me.
