Welcome to The Masters Workshop! My name is Bobbi and I am an artist residing in Seattle Washington. My background and love of jewelry goes all the way back to one of my high school teachers that inspired me with the work of Master Jeweler Peter Carl Fabrege........from then on I have been hooked on jewelry.
I graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1981 with a BFA in Metalsmithing. My love for jewelry created for me a very interesting career. In 1981 I started working for one of the "BIG CHAIN" jewelers adn worked my way from a sales person to a million dollar store manager, to a District manager and finally on to a Regional Vice President. after having worked for the chain company for 15 years it was finally time for me to move out on my own.
I have passion for the arts but in 1992 I began to teach myself the art of needlepoint. I continued working on my needle work while working for the Big Chain jeweler and eventually was able to study under several of the country's most well known needle artists. By the time I reached 1998 I had joined the ANG, American Needlepoint Guild. The guild has an annual Seminar and I was ready to enter my first piece," SUMMER SONG" The picture of the canvas with the bird. Needless to say I walked away with the entire show winning, Best of Show,Best use of Color, Peoples Choice, Best Amateur Adaptation, and Judges Choice. I was one of the first to use a 3-dimmensional technique with my stitching where the needlepoint comes out from the canvas. The other piece is another original piece of mine called "Lotus at Sunset".......
It would seem the rest is history, my love for all art continues with a passion for fiber, and jewelry. My time now is also dedicated to my favorite children, Samantha the Golden retriever, and Max the Bull Mastiff......
Thanks for stopping by and be sure to take a look at my work.......
Joy and peace........Bobbi |
