Since 1985, Jim Hanley's Universe prides itself on having one of the most complete selections of comics in the country. While we stock titles like Batman, Superman, Hellboy, Punisher, Spider-Man, Sandman and X-Men from major publishers like Marvel, DC, Image, Archie and Dark Horse, we also stock titles from the vast majority of independent comic publishers such as Drawn & Quarterly and Fantagraphics and we always have a great selection of independent titles such Hate, Eightball, Love and Rockets, Lenore and Optic Nerve. We even have entire sections devoted to works by creators like R. Crumb, Alan Moore, and Neal Gaiman, to name a few! Plus we have a great selection of back issues, trade paperbacks, graphic novels and comic strip reprints.
We work hard to keep international titles like Tin-Tin in stock, as well as books featuring foreign artists and in languages such as French, Spanish, and Japanese (and English translations).
Manga is also a big part of our store. We have a great selection of titles from the likes of Viz and TokyoPop such as Dragonball, Inu-Yasha, Naruto, Rurouni Kenshin, Akira, Shonen-Jump and more.
JHU also has an excellent selection of Comic Character Statues, T-shirts, Toys and Action Figures, Card Games, Trading Cards, Books, Comic Supplies (bags, boards, boxes), How To Draw and other instructional art books, DVDs, Magazines and more! We have merchandise featuring all your favorite characters: Aquaman, Betty Boop, Bettie Page, Buffy, Daredevil, Dracula, Frankenstein, Freddy, Jason, Justice League, Nightmare Before Christmas, Popeye, Simpsons, Spongebob, Star Trek, Star Wars, Wolverine, Wonder Woman... the list goes on!
