Back to previous page  A WOOD TURNERS EVOLUTION On my background, I am 39 years old and have been working with wood in some form way for 25 years. The natural warmth and beauty of wood has always fascinated me. I started working with wood by making gifts out of exotic wood for my family and friends in high school.  I attended college and joined the work force but have always been drawn back to working with wood. Working with wood is a passion for me and I am never happier than when I am creating something using the most beautiful and exotic woods available. I travel the country and hand select the most beautiful pieces of wood available.   I traveled extensively and worked in various fields, but moved back to Santa Maria California in 1997 to apprentice under the late Master Wood Turner, Oliver Les Brownlee.   Under his guidance I learned the art of making fine writing instruments and other art objects.  I discovered my main passion is the creating of fine writing instruments and have worked hard over the years to perfect my skills.
