Here are some questions from customer letters:
Question: I noticed that you list coins with an H.H. or L.H. after the year. Would you tell me what those letters mean? Sure, H.H. means High horizon and L.H. means Low horizon. To the right of Brittania's foot is the horizon line (water line) which intersects and drapery folds on Brittainia at two different points, one higher and one lower.
Question: I would like to buy coins more as an investor than a collector. What should I keep in mind for the best profit in the future? Answer: Try to buy coins in the highest grade possible in "key dates". Lower mintage coins should be your priority as an investor.
Question: In your comments you sometimes list coins with a number like S-3617. What does that number mean? Answer: "S" stands for Seaby number which is listed in the Spink's catalog of British Coins. The lowere the number the older the coin. Example: S-4149 is a Sixpence 1954 to 1970. S-3617 is a Shilling 1710 to 1714.
Question: Do you bulk ship (so I can save money on multiple coin purchases). Answer: Absolutely. We want our customers to have value in the coins that they buy from us - not wasted costs. We encourage multiple coin purchases to defray the per coin shipping costs.
Question: Can I get a discount on a coin? Answer: We realize that many people think that if someone lists something on eBay its like a bargain basement, thrift shop, or garage sale. However, this is not the case with our coins. If you'll do your homework, you'll see that in most cases we are already many of the lowest prices on eBay for coins of equal value, and probably have one of the largest collections. We don't put all of our coins on ebay - just a small fraction. So you can imagine just how many we have. And if you look closely, you see that we're already offering most of the coins at wholesale prices (the same prices offered to dealers in our E-Catalog. We truly don't want to be rude, but if you're thinking about our store like a thrift shop, a discount store, or a Saturday yard sale, please don't. We have already discounted the coins. We offer a great value in the coin - in almost all cases you'll get more coin value than you invested in a coin with us.
Question: Do you ship internationally? Answer: Yes we do. Depending on the value of the coin purchased, we may require insurance and signature to ship internationally. I'm sure if you'll read just a little, you'll understand why.
Question: If I buy a coin from you, will you say on the customer paperwork that I paid less than I did (so I won't have to pay as high a tariff)? Answer: No. We declare exact what was paid for the coin. Doing anything else would not only be dishonest, but would affect insurance if the coin gets lost somehow.
Question: Will you ship the coin via a very fast shipment so I can get it very quickly? Absolutely. You tell us how you want the coin shipped - and if that method is insurable, we'll ship it. You should know however that the more rapid the transit - the more it will cost you.
