About Human Nature & Pet Works Of ME

How It Started
Pet Works Of Maine was developed by Tom & Jen Esty, who each have a love for pets and animals in general. Tom, with an extensive wood working background builds the wood products that PWOM carries & Jen comes up with most of the product designs and ideas as well as developing the site & doing most of the painting & baking. "This is a true labor of love for us. We wanted to do something for our pets & decided that other people's pets would enjoy them also." Tom & Jen also donate a portion of each sale to several pet welfare organizations including The Animal Refuge League (of Westbrook, ME), where they have adopted both their cat & dog from; they could not imagine their lives without them.


The Human Nature Line
The pet business seemed to fill a niche, but not everyone has pets so we decided to try making products that we use (bath & body products, candles, etc.). The Human Nature line was born. We have also started a dog walking/pet sitting line of business to what we already do.
