Joe wasn't too fond of capitalist enterprises....

Maybe he'd appreciate the irony in choosing his name for something like eBay...and maybe I can inject his subversive revolutionary spirit into this dot-com marketplace...

Me? I'm Michael Engel, and I recently retired from teaching US politics at a state college here in Massachusetts. I collect political items (surprise!) and occasionally other assorted items depending on my mood. And selling on eBay is how I pay for my collecting. (Actually, as capitalist enterprises go, this one is pretty fair and equitable--everyone's on the same level, no one exploits anyone else, and prices actually do reflect supply and demand. Too bad it can never work that way on a larger scale...)

As for my eBay trading, I take pride in a six-year record of customer satisfaction. I try to give clear and honest descriptions of my sales items, I have a 14-day unconditional return privilege policy--and only once have I been asked to oblige! I also refuse to cheat my buyers with excessive shipping or phony "handling" fees--they pay what it costs me and nothing more. And perhaps as a result, 99% of my customers have dealt honestly with me.
