Hello and welcome to my nursery. My name is Josie, I have been reborning four years. Reborning has come such a long way in the last four years the possibilities are endless. I am always sure to keep up with the latest techniques Which to me makes this art form so exciting! This art form is a very rewarding experience from start to finish. Each baby that is created is done so with as much passion and realism as possible. There is no greater joy for me that bringing these babies to life. I use only the highest quality materials. My mother has recently retired and makes most of my reborn clothes. It has been a dream come true to work together.
Below are many examples of my work.
THE REBORN PROCESS Each baby is disassembled, then given a complete washing removing any dirt or dust collected on the vinyl. They are then left to dry. All the original factory paint is removed. Then With a special blend of acrylic oil paints Or Genesis heat set Paints I start the process of bringing them to life. This takes many days. When I am happy with the skin tone I then blush them from head to toe, no crease or wrinkle is over looked.
MICRO ROOTED MOHAIR Most of my babies have hand rooted mohair, I love this process its very time consuming but well worth it. It adds to the realism of the baby! The sleepy babies normaly get hand rooted lashes. I do use wigs when I want the baby to look a bit older. All my babies eyebrows are hand painted.
BODY My babies are given a new body, I like to use doe suede, the one fourth arms and legs are fully jointed and filled with soft fiber fill and soft pellets. My full arm and leg babies are also weighted With fine glass beads. There limbs are always weighted to feel like a real baby even the head is heavy like a real baby.
NOSE I open the nose by hand then sculpt to remove any snags, it is then backed with black felt.
MAGNETIC PACIFIER Each baby gets a magnetic pacifier, which can be removed if need be.
MANICURE AND PEDICURE My babies get a full manicure and pedicure. I hand paint each little finger and toe nail with a flat brush only getting the tips and then a high gloss sealer, at this time I give a layer of oil paint and high gloss sealer on to give the baby wet look.
WARDROBE Most of the babies get a beautiful hand~made outfit made by my very talentd mother. New born T~shirt, Diaper, blanket and soft toy.
