My mother and I enjoy making affordable jewelry that brightens your mood at work or compliments a new outfit for this week's special occasion. I've also combined more Italian sterling silver chains with Swarovski Austrian crystals, Czech crystals and glass, freshwater and quality Czech glass pearls to create unique jewelry for that special occasion. I often use handmade lampwork beads and dichroic glass creations that are created by glass artists around the country. Japanese Washi Doll Cards
My mother studied with a teacher from Japan. She has since combined the traditional kami-ningyo (paper doll) folded paper technique with layering cut pieces of Japanese paper to simulate Japanese quilting. Even if the kimonos are cut from the same Washi paper, they will look different because no two kimonos are cut from the exact same position of the paper. Unfortunately sometimes my photographs just don?t show the three dimensional texture of her dolls. View her other doll cards.
