My journey with antiques started out of necessity.... Just starting out in my adult life with 2 kids to raise on a strict budget, to cut costs I began hitting tag sales, or as we call them here in the mid-west Yard Sales…
On these many journeys out to forage for kids clothes and baby items I would find that little tid bit, that beautiful lamp or picture or cup and saucer with that great “Old” pattern on it.
But my true passion even in those days was antique furniture, and it seemed that I had an eye for the more ornate pieces I was later to learn were “Victorian or Eastlake style”.
Fast-forward several years…
My first love is my love of Jesus, and my best friend and husband Nathan and of course my family! My preference for the Victorian, in my antiquing, has changed completely to Primitives...
I still love to going to auctions and estate sales and I attend with many of my friends and fellow vendors I have grown to admire and respect.
I also maintain booths at 2 of our area antique malls, “ The Old Tin Lantern” in Washington IN where I have not only worked my booth for going on 4 years but also worked as sales/cashier for several years, and "Somewhere in Tyme" Petersburg IN, where I with 2 other good friends/vendors decorate the windows and the store.
My love for antiques has grown to a way of life and what I like to think is a small part of my personal ministry.
My personal preference includes anything Primitive but mostly rough primitive painted furniture and crocks, quilts, baskets,Americana, just the more prim the better. Contact me anytime! I love to talk (type) LOL .
