Hi: My name is Kim! I live in the beautiful state of Oregon. I'm an hour from the beach and an hour from the Cascade Mountains. I'm a true Oregon girl, born and raised about 20 minutes from where I live today. I took a trip back to Rhode Island in June 2006 with my mom to visit relatives. I had a great vacation and I got to see a whole new world (The East Coast). I visited Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Marthas Vineyard. My favorite places I visited were Boston, Newport, Mystic, Marthas Vinyard and Iggy's Doughboy in Rhode Island (Awsome Quahogs and the best clam chowder and clam cakes). My mom has now gone to be with her savior. My ex-husband and I also got a chance to go to Sea World in San Diego the last week of December 2005. Brandon and his daddy had so much fun swimming with the dolphins and interacting with them. I tried to take pictures through my many tears of joy. I love to go to Vegas with my girlfriends when I get a few days off. I do have to say the last year of my life has been full of ups and downs. I lost my mom a year ago and went through a divorce. But, I'm surviving and doing well now. Thanks to K-LOVE, a christian radio station that I listen too all the time.
I love to just sit and design different jewerly pieces when I have the time. But, now I have a new adventure in front of me and I have decided to venture out and be a team captain for "WALK FOR AUTISM RESEARCH". My son Brandon has Autism and I saw this on the news last September, so I brought it up at a meeting and with the help of my sorority sisters we are going to make a difference "Step By Step". We are selling one of a kind postcards with a yellow rose that you will not find any where else. This is one of my hobbies (taking pictures of pretty flowers). These make great gifts, as the yellow rose stands for friendship. They will be wrapped with a ribbon and ready to give away or keep for yourself. You actually may recognize my rose as it was featured on the front cover of the Torch in the summer of 2007. Please check out my Ebay Store for more great gift ideas. (Step by Step we'll find the missing pieces). As I always say "Life, Learning and Friendship is the greatest gift of all" Thank you for being my Friend and Beta Sigma Phi Sister. It means a great deal to me and my family when people can come together and raise money for Autism Awareness. Thanks again for your continued support! Don't forget APRIL is Autism Awareness Month.
Life, Learning and Friendship means the world to me as my sorority sisters voted me Valentine Princess and Woman of the Year last year. Now that it is a new year I'm going to pass this honor on to one of my soroity sisters. Thank you Beta Sigma Phi for making me part of the woman that I am today!
From your sister and friend,
Kim
