Hello (dobre den)...

I'm Robert Chudek, aka "Bob" and to many of my friends "k0rc" (kay zero are sea) or sometimes just "rc". This k0rc moniker is my amateur radio callsign. I have been licensed since 1962 and qualified to select my own call letters. I chose to use my initials. I, like many other ham operators, use their call letters as login ID's for eBay, Yahoo, AOL, etc.

I grew up in a first-ring suburb of Minneapolis, MN and now live 40 miles outside the metropolitan area. This is a rural farming community, with a strong Scandinavian history.

I retired a few years ago after a lifetime career in the electronics end of the printing and graphic arts industries.

I was part of the supercomputer industry (CDC/Cray Research) in the late '60's, traveled for a graphics equipment manufacturer (Linotype Company), installing, servicing, and training people in the operation of their new equipment in the '70's. I ran a successful business (Data Service Company) for 20+ years providing graphic workstations, servers, and networks to the pre-press industry in the '80's and '90's.

My most recent position was managing a large group of IT engineers and technicians that keep the advertising "engine" running (concept thru printing 50+ million copies a week) for Target Corporation and two of their subsidiaries.

I have no plans to open an eBay store, but I have a lot of new old stock (NOS) items left over from my computer sales and servicing company. I also have test equipment and other parts from my RF design lab. Of course there's the usual pile of ham radio items that should really have a new home.

Today, my retirement goals include starting an orchard on my land in the countryside. I already have a compact tractor and several trees planted. Last year I learned my first agricultural lesson. The deer like apple trees and can harvest very quickly, sometimes overnight!

I am also a musician, following the lead of my father. I played accordion for about 10 years when I was very young. I had a 30-year hiatus from making music but about 12 years ago I acquired my father's accordions and amplifiers. I retrofitted the accordion with midi capability and began playing again. I have 5 accordions now (I just can't seem to sell anything)!

I am the co-founder of the Minnesota Accordion Club and organized a Yahoo eGroup for accordionists. I am on the board of directors of the Chisago County Historical Society helping that organization implement new computer technologies to bring some of their important documents online and into pdf searchable format.

My eBay goals are to offer the items that should have a new home and be put to use once again. Other than a few small electronics parts, you will not find any 'high volume' items in my listings.
