Thanks for visiting my "About Me" page here on Ebay. I am a BIG FAN of Ebay, and began buying over 9 years ago, and selling in late 2002. I think the global marketplace Ebay offers is a tremendous opportunity to market my favorite products to people all over the world!
At auction and on the store "cybershelves" are items that express my personal interests in quilting, needlecraft and vintage sewing items. I am an avid collector, trader and restorer of vintage sewing machines. Husband Joe always seems to contribute to our product mix too. As a hunting guide, automotive and Texas BBQ expert, and custom knifemaker, he's always running into interesting items for "the guys" too.
My professional career, 25+ years in telecom marketing, prepared me well to operate a "cyberstore" on eBay!
On a personal note, I am a serious organic gardener, computer geek and hand quilter (lessons anyone?), and I bake a mean pecan pie!. Ebay is also a great way to put funds away for my teenage son's college education-something else you contribute to when you buy from me!

About My Restored Sewing Machines for sale...
My first sewing experience came at the hands of my mother, who taught me how to use her Singer model 221 "Featherweight" at about age 6. I was instantly hooked, making Barbie clothes, and eventually making many of my own clothes. My more memorable outfit was a pair of patchwork bell-bottom drawstring pants, with a "coordinating" peasant blouse of red bandana calico and muslin! (You can see a picture of the outfit on my blog - see FAVORITE LINKS below). And my first quilt, a Twin Sized "Trip Around the World" created from our scrap bag of dressmaking scraps, was made at about age 16 or so... in the late 60's.
A schooling in the Fine Arts led me to a career in marketing, and I left my sewing behind for almost 20 years... until one day when I saw a beautiful old Singer treadle machine... and so my love affair with the needle was re-born. It started with a collection, and continued as my latent mechanical abilities came out (I've always been a bit of a geek)and I began dragging home machines from various odd estate sales and antique shops and started tearing them down and restoring them to working condition. Quilts were put together, and I even started making a few shirts and dresses! I am a participating member of many online collector groups, as well as the Texas Sewing Machine Collector Roundup - which meets annually in College Station. I am also certified (by Ray White - a great former sewing dealer and repairman) to fix and repair anything I can get my tools on!
So - all the machine I sell on eBay have been thoroughly cleaned, lubricated, and adjusted, returned to excellent, useable working condition - they always leave my bench looking MUCH better than when they arrived. I get great joy knowing they'll be enjoyed by yet another generation. I liste each machine's features, and history (if known), and provide a photo of a sample of it's sewing.

Payment, Shipping, Insurance, Feedback and Return Policies:

COMMUNICATION:
I always email winning bidders within 24 hours of auction end, to confirm the transaction, and provide you info on shipping and payment options. I will also send an invoice via email, if you do not pay for your item immediately. If you do not hear from me after 24 hours of making payment, please email me to let me know how you intend to pay for your item. Sometimes those automatic payment notifications get lost in "Cyberspace". Be aware too, that sometimes my emails to you may get caught in your internet provider's SPAM filters. So, please email if you haven't heard from me within 24 hours or have any questions about your payment or purchase. Complete payment instructions are shown on the item page, the "PAY NOW" eBay checkout process, and in any invoice or auction win notification email from me.

ACCEPTED PAYMENT METHODS:
Paypal is our preferred method.

Please be sure your correct shipping address is entered in Paypal, and use the "notes" feature in Paypal to send us any special instructions regarding the shipment (for example a request for priority shipping). It's NICE to have your phone number for the shipping order - in case the shipper needs it to locate your address! We do not keep phone numbers on file, or use them. We NEVER sell or otherwise use our customer records, and won't email you after a sale (other than to provide shipping information), unless you sign up for our newsletter mailings).
We also accept Personal Checks, Postal Money Orders, Certified or Cashiers Check. SHIPPING, and DELIVERY CONFIRMATION:
We normally ship your item within 24-48 hours of payment receipt. Please let us know if you need your package sent faster, as we can arrange for overnight shipping if desired. We ALWAYS show shipping options and rates right on ALL item listings, so you know what the total price up front. Larger We use the Ebay shipping calculator (located on the item page) - so you can figure shipping right on the auction page - before or after you bid! It is set up to provide the actual shipping price for you via USPS or UPS or Fedex Ground. S&H includes the cost of the packaging (bubble pack, peanuts, foam, box) and time and gas getting your item to the shipper. With Fedex and UPS, insurance is included, up to $100.00 value.
We try very hard to keep our handling rates as low as possible. We DO recycle boxes and packaging whenever possible to save YOU money! We ship USPS directly out of the Austin General Mail Facility, so our shipping is fast! If you provide us a phone number, it will go on the shipping order, a help to a lost driver! Otherwise, our number goes on all shipments.Again - click on CONTACT the SELLER which is at the top of every item page, to ask a question regarding shipping.
Items valued over $100.00 may require a signature at delivery. Most shipments will arrive within 3 to 7 days. We do use USPS Media Mail with tracking and confirmation for books and prints, and this can take longer - up to 10 days, but it is the lowest rate at the post office. If you need these items faster, we can quote you a faster shipping method. Please email us with any questions.PLEASE Provide your phone number for your UPS or Fedex Ground item, so the delivery agent will be able to call you if he gets LOST!! If I don't have your phone number, mine goes on the shipping order - no help to a lost Fedex Driver and I have received calls!
INSURANCE:
With USPS, insurance is an added charge, quoted separately. I make every effort to keep S&H prices at a reasonable amount. All are calculated using the online calculators at the shipper web sites,from our zip code: 78723. We package carefully, and haven't lost one yet, but damage or loss is always a possibility. If your item is damaged, you'll have a choice to file for the insurance, or return the item to us for a full refund (we'll file for the insurance in that event).
RETURNS:
Please view my feedback and bid with confidence! All Sales are FINAL, and items are typically listed at low, low starting bids and reasonable "Buy It Now" price. I try to picture and describe items a completely as possible, looking over them carefully and disclosing any flaws I see in the item description. So, please review the description and pictures carefully. If you have questions, or would like a picture with a different view... please email me and I'll try to accommodate you within 24 hours. So, while "All Sales are Final" is my policy, I won't hesitate to make an exception if you feel I have grossly misrepresented a product or if you just are disappointed with it, or if there is a serious issue with the item, I will give you a full refund on the item price and the cost of return (not initial) shipping. Don't make any assumptions about an item, if you have questions, email me BEFORE BIDDING! All measurements are approximate, and remember that colors may appear differently on your PC monitor. All refunds or returns will be made at seller's discretion and only if I am contacted and the item returned within 7 days of your receipt of the item. Since we use tracking and/or delivery confirmation on all our orders, we know when they were received!

If you do have a problem, please email me before you file negative feedback. I am more than happy to work with you to resolve any issues. I want you to be happy and you are encouraged to email any concerns prior to leaving feedback in order to be fair and give me a chance to address any concerns since feedback signals the end of the transaction. Feedback can only be changed upon agreement of both parties.
INTERNATIONAL BUYERS:
I'd love to add your location to my world map...we add a pin for every customer we've served world wide. However, due to the cost of shipping internationally, I do have some special rules for you:
- Most of my auctions show international (WORLDWIDE) rates for shipping, if you have ANY questions about those rates, please email me before bidding, I normally respond to email within hours or receipt. Normally, I provide First Class International USPS rates for package under 4 pounds, and USPS Priority for larger items. Let me know if you need other rates.
- Due to the high fees charged by US banks to process overseas drafts, I can only accept Paypal for International Payments.
I will obtain and fill out the appropriate customs form. And an invoice is ALWAYS included in all my shipments showing price paid and shipping price. Sorry, but I can not designate your item as a "gift". You are responsible for appropriate customs duties or taxes at your address!
