A Little About Me and My Beads
Hi everyone !! My name is Kathy (but you can call me Katie, many do), and I am a Self Representing Artist (SRA). I started Lampworking in October 2007, and I have to say, I am hooked !! I so enjoy creating new Lampwork Beads, and am currently working full time at it. Quite frankly, there are just not enough hours in the day !
All my lampwork beads are handmade by me in my Virginia Beach, VA studio. Since they are handmade, they are all unique, one of a kind beads. I use German (Lauscha), Italian (both Effetre/Moretti and Vetrofond), Chinese (CiM) and US (various "Silver") made glass rods. Most of my beads are made on either a 3/32" or 1/8" mandrel. Some of my beads may include small cubic zirconia, pure copper foil, pure copper mesh/wire, fine silver leaf/foil, and/or fine silver wire. Many also include twisties, murrini and/or hand blown "shard," all of which I make myself. Whereas some of my beads are etched (matte finished), most are smooth and shiny. Although I work with almost every color of the rainbow, my favorite are the "organic" beads made with various earthtones. And of course, all my beads are properly annealed in my kiln for durability and the holes are thoroughly cleaned using a diamond reamer bit. Please remember that these beads are made of glass, and eventhough glass is sturdy, it is also breakable, so please handle accordingly.

More Than Just Lampwork Beads
I have been selling, way longer than I've been making Lampwork beads. I have had a store here on Ebay with a fairly large selection of Czech Pressed Glass Beads, Miyuki Beads, a few Pewter Findings, and even some Peyote Amulet Bag Patterns and Kits of my own design, for many years. I am happy to be adding my own creations.
