Hi and welcome! Thought you might want to know a little bit about me. I was born in Honolulu, Hawaii 2nd oldest of 7 children. My father was a pilot/engineer. Being a kid in Hawaii was fun. We ran around barefoot and would hang out at the beach in little bikinis soaking up the sun.. Soon I was making my own bikinis. I took sewing lessons and my mother bought me my first sewing machine when I was nine. My older sister and I had also been taking dancing lessons and we did alot of recitals. I had fun making costumes for our stage performances at different military bases on the island. My dream of becoming a prima ballerina ended when my father took a job with Air America (during the Viet Nam war) and we moved to Southeast Asia. This is where I really learned how to sew.
After moving all over the world with my family, including Iran, Thailand and Taiwan, I finally graduated from high school in Virginia. Since I had always loved performing, I enrolled in college as a music major. I was self taught on flute and guitar and practiced religiously. I wanted to be a rock star. I studied hard and took singing lessons and even acting classes. I dropped out of college to move to the west coast and join a rock band. One after another I drifted from band to band and audition to audition. Finally ended up in Long Beach, California where I worked in several rock'n'roll bands doing top 40 in nightclubs. It was great being on stage every night, but I wasn't making much money. I decided to use my dancing background to supplement my income while waiting for my big Hollywood break. I got a job in this unique club which was sort of a Flashdance type of bar. We actually got to keep our clothes on! We were expected to do little routines and have nice costumes which, for me, was perfect! I could dance and I sure knew how to make costumes. I worked there about 5 years and then tried other clubs. Didn't last long at most of them. I wanted to work in Las Vegas, but at 5'5", I was not tall enough. By this time, I had a small following of girls who asked me to make outfits for them. The natural progression from there was to start a business of my own making gorgeous, sexy clothes for dancers. I rented a facility, hired the best seamstresses I could find and we've been here now for almost 15 years designing and manufacturing our own line of unique clothing for body conscious women. It's been great fun! I still travel the world but spend most of my time designing and selling on eBay.
