1. Why should I buy from you?
Answer: First of all, If I have to convince you to buy from me, I'd rather pass on the sale. But, when you buy from me, you get a peace of mind knowing that the product will be either new or have passed my quality requirement. If you search around, you will realize that my products are second to none in quality - hence they are a little more expensive. When you buy from me you can rest assured that the item will be as described and not worrying about any of the 101 things that can go wrong when buying second hand items. I have gained a lot of knowledge from trading these instruments over the years as well as interacting with expert repairmen. Consider buying from me if you value quality and expertise information.
2. I see a lot of Zeiss 7x40 DF East German binoculars for around $200, why yours so expensive?
Answer: I see them too, but their condition can not be compared with mine. Most are either used, reconditioned, or assembled from parts. Its hard to tell for the untrained eyes, but I've been trading this model for a while and I know the giveaways. The units I have are all 100% original in every way and were never issued. It is easy to own a 7x40 DF, but to have a virgin sample of this surperb model in your collection is nothing short of a treat. In term of optical design, this model is one of the best from the Carl Zeiss Jena. I do believe I am the only seller on eBay globally to offer these Cold War binocuar in new condition. As supply depletes I will be upping my asking price.
3. Do you have this part? Do you sell the objective rubber donuts for the M22, do you know where I can get them?
Answer: Sorry I do not have them anymore. I bought a bunch from surplus sales a while ago but most are gone and I don't know where you can them, you can try steiner-binoculars.com but I doubt it. I would suggest that you look for them at surplus, antiques, or militaria shops. If there is a part you're after, you're welcome to email me to see if I happen to have it.
4. Do you buy binoculars?
Answer: Absolutely, but I'm pretty picky in the condition and models I bring want to bring in. I'm am currently seeking MK41, M19, Steiner M22, WWII German Zeiss, and other more exotic glasses.
5. I'm the high bidder but I placed the bid in error. If I pay you the listing fees, can you not leave negative feedback?
Answer: Since I can not physically force you to honor the contract, its really up to you how you want to handle this. I'm addition to losing the listing fee, I have to file for credit with eBay, keep track of the status, unpacked the item, and so forth. I'm willing to accept 15% of final winning bid to settle this. But do yourself and me a favor by not bidding unless you're going to pay.
6. Can you recommend a place where I can get my binocular serviced?
Answer: Short answer is I can not. Binocular repair is a skilled trade and requires special tools and collimating equipments for the job. Many camera repair shops will clean a standard binocular, but be cautious if you binocular is exotic or sophisticated. For your protection, it's best that you do your homework on the capability of the repair shop before you send anything out.

Payment methods
Please see each individual item. In general I accept MO, personal checks, PayPal, bank wire transfer for larger amount. I DO NOT take credit cards.
Shipping information
I try to get things out as soon as possible but sometimes urgent things came up that will cause delays. If you have a special request, contact me prior to buying to see if I can accommodate. Please try to get payment in as soon as possible so your item can be included on my next trip to the post office.
PayPal fees
For more expensive items, I won't accept PayPal because of the 4% fee. If you want to use it, you will have to pick up the 4%.
Refund Policy
I have never had an item returned due to an accurate description. For your protection, I will honor a 3 day refund policy for used items, this should be enough time for the buyer to examine and evaluate the item. The refund price will be the winning price, less shipping. In the case of my error in listing, I will pick up both sides of the shipping. The buyer would need to work with me to unwind the transaction on the eBay side. For new, especially sealed items, and unless with special prior agreement between us, sale is final. I want the buyer to feel comfortable, but I also want to discourage the impulse purchase and the subsequent refund process. If you have a concern, contact me before you bid or buy.
International Shipping
I only use the US Postal Service for my shipping needs. The price I give for a overseas sale is for First Class Airmail rate and it is not trackable. While I have never had a failed delivery, I've been informed by previous customers that they had to wait as long as 4 weeks before getting the item. I am not sure why but perhaps the customs folks in their countries are taking looooong lunch or coffee breaks??? Please understand that once the package get dropped off at my local post office, the delivery time is beyond my control. Unless the item value is very expensive, First Class Airmail is the most economical. If you have a special delivery need, contact me before you bid or buy.
