FOGGWORKS CRYSTAL BOXES

I created the art form of hand-engraving on optical lenses in 1979 and have been at it ever since.

I use a tool similar to a dentists drill.

My hand-created Crystal Jewelry/Trinket Boxes are made with a hand-engraved, optical lens blank (as in before they are made into eyeglasses ) for the lid...... It is set into a Limoges-style hinged lid with delicate chains on the sides. They are 5 inches tall.

ENGRAVING

I divide the pattern into two parts and engrave half of it on the front and half on the back of the optical lens .... so that the engraved image appears to be three-dimensional!!

In the bottom of the base there is a mirror, ..... when you close the lid and look down thru the lens, into the mirror,... you will see the engraved image's reflection floating around inside.

It's sort of MULTI DIMENSIONAL! ...This is one of the best things about the box and I can't get an image of it to show you, it just doesn't come out right in a photo.
