The Shine Shop is a custom metal polishing job shop located in Lancaster, PA. I work on everything from blow torches to pewter coffee/tea sets -- but I specialize in cookware restoration. The items come directly from customers as well as purcases from estate sales, auctions, and some via the internet. Revere Ware was what I began working on, and 10 years later it still comprizes the bulk of my work. The methods were developed to produce the highest quality finish, matching (sometimes bettering) the factory finish. My customers include professional chefs, antique dealers, and private individuals, throughout the US and Canada.
I began selling Revere on eBay in 2001but by 2007 health problems made it impossible for me to produce on a schedule that satisfied my customers and keep the quality at the level that satisfied me. I closed the store for most of the summer and fall of 2008 and developed an alternate approach producing high quality replacement parts which were greatly needed, in quantities which my health would permit me to make.
NTNTM is
short for "Next-To-New",and identifies cookware that I have restored to near-original factory condition. Each piece is disassembled and chemically cleaned; surface scratches are removed with micro-fine abrasives, then polished back to a factory-like finish. Rough, oxidized Bakelite handles and knobs are stripped before buffing to restore the glossy black finish. No paints, silicones, sealers, or other temporary finishes are used - the finish you see on my NTN Revere Ware is permanent, and will last as long as the original.
