Hello and welcome to my Me Page.
My name is Kathy and I am an incurable pack-rat, from a long line of pack-rats before me.
Plastic Totes shudder when they hear my name. They also make great furniture in a pinch.
I started selling here on eBay to offset my love of bidding, and things evolved from there.
I have two great kids and a wonderful other half. We live in Connecticut but just bought a house in north-coastal Maine! Wicked!
How about some Q&A?
What do you sell? -- Right now my focus is jewelry-vintage, contemporary, antique, mostly costume with a special piece tucked in there now and then. I love this stuff. I enjoy selling items to fill in around the corners of your collection, and pieces you can wear without worry. You may find different things in my listings though, some glass, porcelain, occasionally books and music, a little bit of everything and anything that comes down the pike.
When do you ship? -- I will trek to the post office Monday-Friday. I generally don't ship on Saturdays unless time is of the essence or I happen to be up and around early enough. Yes, I sleep late on Saturdays, yard sales or not.
Will my item arrive quickly and intact? -- I sure hope so. Evening payments ship the next day. Morning payments, providing I'm not up and out really early, generally go the same day. Your jewelry will be wrapped in tissue, bubble wrap, and a small box. If it won't fit in a box, more bubble wrap will be used. I try to pack for the worst-case scenario.
I do recycle shipping material when it's appropriate.
How are your shipping charges? -- My shipping and handling does not include hidden profit or my listing fees. For jewelry items I use a flat fee and will cheerfully mail 5 or 6 pieces for the price of one. There's a small overage built in to 1st class shipping which goes to purchase bubble wrap, mailers and small boxes. For larger items, glass or porcelain, heavier things, I calculate Priority shipping to CA. If my price ends up too high in these cases I will send you back any substantial overage via PayPal.
Why is your insurance optional? -- Don't get me wrong. Insurance is there to protect me, as the seller. Uninsured packages get the same respect from me as do insured packages. I know some buyers like the added comfort of purchasing insurance so I do keep it as an open option. Whether you use it or not, our transaction will be the same.
Do you have a return policy? -- If you have a problem with your item don't hesitate to email me. I take this one item at a time and will work with you to make sure you are satisfied.
Can I make an offer? -- In my store and fixed price listings, I almost always enable the 'Make an Offer' option. I accept about 90% of offers I receive. I consider all offers and accept all reasonable ones!
What about this newsletter option when I add you to my favorites? Do you spam me? -- No way. Approximately once a month I will send something out, a casual newsletter outlining my listing plans for the next month or two, mentioning anything special I may have on deck.
Do you have a volatile feedback policy? -- Um, no. I am neither a fb-on-shipping or a wait-for-buyer seller. I go through my sales once a week or so and leave feedback then. As a result I am sometimes the first, and occasionally the second to leave feedback. If you have not received it from me yet, don't take it as a personal affront...I just leave feedback in bunches.
You seem awfully confident, what gives? -- I love what I do.
I'm new at this. Help! -- Email me using 'contact seller' any time. I answer my email as I read it and will do my best to make your experience a good one.
