MajorDesigns American Girl Custom Made Fashions and Accessories Welcome to Our Store! I’d like to introduce myself. My name is Carol Major of MajorDesigns in N. Olmsted, Ohio (just west of Cleveland). I’ve been making, selling doll clothes and accessories for 15” and 18” dolls like American Girl for over 20 years. This has been a family effort with my daughter Kim, husband Bill and when I need extra hands I call on my son Bill and youngest daughter Amy (a little arm twisting needed). I was known as the Cabbage Patch lady for many years. How it all got started! At a craft show in the Fall some 24 years ago a cute little white haired lady stopped at my table and asked if my girlfriend or I had every heard of the American Girl Doll. We looked at each other and said no, seconds later this sweet little lady is handing me 4 American Girl Patterns and told me to take them home and copy them and here is my name and address please mail them back. My girlfriend and I made copies she was making Barbie Doll clothes and I was in the Cabbage Patch business at the time. I call this lovely lady my "Angel". I never got to really thank her for the opportunity that she opened up to me that day. Over the years I have made so many wonderful friends. Now the girls that were 5 years old are now coming back to see me with children of their own. So many wonderful stories. I take part in several area craft shows throughout the year and in the Spring have Teas with area churches or ladies group. It's a great money maker for these groups and I've been invited to take part with them for the last 11 years. So if you are a Mom, Grandmother or Aunt of someone with the American Girl doll or any 15" or 18" doll, please take an opportunity to come and check out my store. We have a large variety of items to choose from: period items similar to those found in the catalog; modern day outfits popular with today’s girls; a wide variety of athletic outfits; shoes, slippers, socks, tights and underwear; furniture made out of oak and other woods; plus a large assortment of accessories for both size dolls.
