Knockout Clothing specialises in vintage womens clothing from the 1920s - 1990s,
with a strong emphasis on the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, and select 90s pieces. We cater to the fearless and
fashion forward - who keep an eye on the past. Ladies who know whats hot, but
follow their own lead.
Knockout Clothing loves all vintage looks, from au naturale to avant garde.
HONESTY, ACURACY, AND FAIRNESS IS OUR GAME.
* All items are hand selected, measured, described, and (when applicable) revamped by Knockout Clothing proprietor SarahJayne. With years of working experience with vintage, and a formal education in fashion history, design, and construction, she's a true professional in her field.
* We work with local talent in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Together, we bring vintage to life.
* Some of our dresses were once long, and have been shortened to their current length. In these instances, all side seams have been reenforced so prevent splitting. Additionally, all hemlines are machine sewn and/or serged to prevent fraying - unless an item doesn't need it due to the nature of it's fabric.
* Garments larger than our models are sometimes clipped in back to fit. Always consult the measurements in listing, as knowing your measurements is essential when buying vintage. Sizing back then is different from what it is now, and to this day sizing varies from brand to brand.
* We disclose all known flaws to the best of our ability, no matter how minor. We'd rather be safe that sorry. But keep in mind that vintage = OLD, RARE, and in most cases, used. Chances are, your item enjoyed a fabulous life the first time around, so light wear and minor imperfections should be expected.
* Your items are coming from a smoke free, pet free home.... but we can't guarantee where they came from before us.
* We don't use shill bidders to raise our bids! Not only is that against EBay's policy, it's just downright unethical. And we don't practice unethical tactics!
* We don't tack on an extra buck or two to profit off shipping. We won't make you foot the bill for our operating expenses, nor are we fee circumventors.
* We give you 10 days to pay for your item! Not 5, not 3, not immediate payment - 10 days! Of course, the sooner you pay, the sooner you get your item : ).
* We strive to give you excellent service, a pleasant shopping experience, and the best vintage there is! We just ask that you treat us with the same courtesy. Please read all text in our listings thoroughly before bidding, and be responsible when you bid! Don't bid if you can't afford or don't intend to pay for an item. Ebay bids are legally binding contracts, and we'd hate to have a problom.
"SarahJayne Gayeski began buying, collecting, and wearing vintage clothing in
1994, at the tender age of 13. Sooner after she began selling her finds to vintage
boutiques throughout Portland, OR and Seattle, WA. Eventually, she held a job at
one such boutique, while attending fashion design school.
She founded Knockout Clothing in 2000, making her finds available to a global market
via the world wide web. In addition to a cult following of young fashionistas, Knockout
Clothing has sold to such noteables as Tracy Tolkien - author of Dressing Up Vintage,
rockabilly historian, record label honco, and living legend Rockin' Ronnie Weiser, Camille
Shaheen - daughter and archivist of reknown designer Alfred Shaheen, the infamous
Chelsea Girl vintage boutique of NYC - who supplied wardrobe to Sex In The City, Tammy from Dressy Bessy,
rockabilly chanteuse Marti Brom, and above all, modern day pinup queen Bernie Dexter.
Treasures from Knockout Clothing have also been added to museum inventories,
theatrical companies, Hollywood costume houses, and worn by
celebrities such as Dita von Teese, Jennifer Tilly, and Chris Isaak.
After taking a leave in 2008, Knockout Clothing is back with a bang in 2009. See our Ebay
and Etsy listings for fun, flashy, fierce, flirty vintage!"
PS: Our old seller ID was *knockout*clothing*, but the * at the end tended to break some of our links outside EBay, so we're now knockoutvintageclothing. Update your links!
