Illegal Counterfeit Sellers have probably robbed innocent eBay buyers of millions of dollars.
Visit our website or read this before you purchase any designer purses on the internet or eBay!!!

Are illegal counterfeits really worth it?
NO!!! Consider the following reasons.
Ten reasons why you shouldn't buy a fake bag:

  1. It is illegal; selling or buying more than two bags is considered trafficking.
  2. Counterfeiters steal intellectual property and violate copyright laws.
  3. Counterfeit factories use forced child labor and sweatshops.
  4. Evidence indicates that illegal counterfeiters funnel money to organized crime and terrorists,
    including Al-Qaeda.

  5. The FBI considers it a serious crime with implications for public safety and security.
  6. Counterfeiters do not follow environmental regulations or safety guidelines.
  7. Counterfeiting is detrimental to the United States economy and all of us. Business losses to
illegal counterfeits are estimated to exceed $250 billion per year.

  8. Fake bags are made with poor quality materials and inferior craftsmanship. Counterfeiters
often use the cheapest material available and no quality control.

  9. Counterfeits are overpriced! A cheap thrill shouldn't cost more than $30.
  10. Don't fake it! More people recognize knockoffs than you realize

The seller above is one of the most deceitful sellers on eBay.
She has at least two eBay seller IDs. Between the two IDs, she has sold
over 12 fake Hermes and 8 Louis Vuitton knockoffs within the last 90 days.
All her Hermes bags were "Unique & Only a few in the world",
"Estate Auction Find" or "Gifts from her ex" (2).
Now she is selling "Hermes Guide 4 Dummies" (1). LOL

Hi, My name is Susan, I am a designer bag fanatic and anti-counterfeit activist. I am not affiliated with any of the designer bag manufacturers, but I have years of experience buying and selling high-end ladies’ handbags. I can, with 99% certainty, tell you which handbag is a knockoff. For years in my daytime profession and on the internet, I have seen many innocent shoppers getting ripped off of their hard earned money by scam artists and illegal counterfeiters. Since I was a young teenager, I  knew of the existence of counterfeit products, especially in ladies’ clothing and handbags. As a young teen, I even bought a few from street vendors in New York City. At that time, counterfeit designer bags to me were just a poor woman’s fantasy. In addition, 15 years ago, I spent some time in Asia for business/vacation and visited the clothing and handbag factories. Before the visit, I envisioned the factories as similar to the ones in the United States, with a reception desk, offices, meeting rooms and the plant. To my surprise, the factories there were located in the alleys, and each factory was in a small open room with several workers. It literally took them minutes to make a suit or a handbag. I was told that each factory is limited in making only a few styles of the design. They worked on a “buddy” system in this particular conglomerate of factories, where one factory would not make the same style as the next factory.

It wasn’t until about seven years ago, when I first signed up on eBay, that I saw the abuse on the internet where scam artists took advantage of innocent shoppers. Many of the “fantasies” are selling for as much as the real handbags. As I investigated more into counterfeit bags, I was startled to find that the exploitation behind the illegal counterfeit products includes terrorist funding, neglect of environmental regulations, and most importantly child labor (especially disturbing after I had a baby of my own). It was then that I decided to do something - started emailing buyers to notify them of their fake purchases.  As a result, on occasion, I received threats from counterfeit sellers, and buyers would question my motives. After a while, I was getting discouraged and thought that what I was doing wasn’t productive and I wasn’t making an impact on the counterfeit sales. I concluded that, in order to warn the buyers directly, I must be a seller and buyers should come to me.

In February of 2005, I created a new user ID on eBay called “KnowKnockoffs” and listed blank auctions with information on counterfeits under the Ladies Handbags and Accessories category. On the auction, I stated “Please do not bid!! This Auction is for Information Only. There are no purses for sale here!” I was giving information away for free on how to detect fake purses. I was listing seven auctions per week at costs of around $5.00 per week or $250 per year.  This was my idea of a charitable educational contribution to society. However, my goodwill came to an end after three weeks when eBay removed all my listings for violating their “no item” policy. I believe that eBay was just following up on a complaint and makes no exception for anyone. Later, I listed Coach dust bags with the same information listed. It also worked for about a week until eBay removed the auctions again. This time, the violation was because the counterfeit information listed didn’t pertain to the actual item for sale.

After having 20+ listings removed, I was ready to give up; then, a wonderful eBay seller Connie from Caitlynscorner suggested that I should write an ebook and sell it under the information category. In addition, I received tremendous support from many other sellers. I am grateful to them for suggesting new ideas and possibilities for my mission. I decided to create a website devoted to both buyers and sellers, and put all information on an ebook and on the internet. This way, I am not limited by space and I can add on hundreds (or thousands) of photos, and the information can be constantly updated.

KnowKnockoffs is created for both buyers and sellers. It educates buyers and distinguishes authentic sellers from counterfeit sellers. Any powersellers of authentic designer bag sellers are welcome to exchange links with me and join for free. Please note that I try to monitor each listing from each seller; however, I can’t personally guarantee them. I truly believe that it will take a group effort to minimize illegal counterfeits, and this is the reason for Knowknockoffs SAIC existence i.e. Sellers Against Illegal counterfeiters. If there is a seller listing counterfeit products, I am confident that other sellers or buyers will notify me.

As of today I have compiled two guides with detailed information on Coach and Louis Vuitton sellers and products. The information in each guide is from my years of personal experience and from authentic Coach and Louis Vuitton resellers. I will continue to add information on new knockoffs as they are introduced into the market.

As always, I welcome any comments or suggestions.

Truly yours,

Susan A. Brady
