Hi folks; This is Dan Adamik (a 34
yearold guy ~ that's me up top from Dans Bike Sales
Unique Acquisitions as
well as Dan's Internet Liquidation Currently in
Falmouth on Cape Cod. For your information;
I'm a United Bicycle Institute (UBI)
Certified Advanced Bike Technician with 22 years total
bike experiance. (www.bikeschool.com){I'm certified in 3
bicycle fields{I'm a UBI DT / Swiss [by the same company
that makes spokes] Certified Master Wheel Builder, a UBI
Frame Prep & Alignment Technician, a UBI Advanced
Suspension Technician & the general UBI Certified
Advanced Bike Technician [which covers all 3], (though
much of my knowledge about bikes became the result of hard
studying of bike manuals since I was 11 [instead of
fooling around] & also thousands of hours of hands on
experience. But since one also needs good equipment to
work on bikes, understand that I also own more than 12K in
tools (nearly all bike shop specific tools made by Park,
Hozan, J.A. Stein, Var, Shimano, Craftsman, Snap On, etc.
for working ONLY on bicycles).
I rent bikes [locally], sell preowned
and new bikes, frames, forks, components, etc. By
the way I fluently speak Czech and Slovak, and "Kola" as
my user ID states means bikes or wheels) and now sell
online both bikes as well as general merchandise; usually
as a discount liquidator.
A note to bidders: I am mostly a one man operation and
please understand; if I don't reply right away to your
e-mails or calls it's because I'm likely most bumming around,
spending your money, at the beach, on some bike (or some blonde ;), sleeping, casting spells and doing ritual work, etc. =]
Also I'm a used bicycle buyer and general merchandise
liquidator - always looking for used, preowned & new
(as well as New Old Stock [NOS]) good quality bike shop

paid under $500 new, except possiblly locally) bicycles

BowFlex & SoloFlex).; Cash or Postal Money Order
promptly paid (I also will consider trades & trade
in's)- remember that I buy low, pay fairly & sell low
or as bidding market allows; sometimes even at or below my
cost (so if you don't want to risk selling your $3000
steed for $2 [or push an unrepaired one w/ risk of getting
negative feedback] on eBay consider letting me make you an
offer), also cellar cleaners, recyclers, scroungers,
salvagers, scrapyards, packrats, dumpster divers [where
permitted], apartment & housing landlords, extended
stay motels, hotels [bikes left against rent owed],
universities, warehouse & storage facilities
[abandoned & discarded bikes], bike shop dealer,
manufacturer, supplier, liquidator, unclaimed or lost
freight, overstocks, pawnshops, second hand & antique
shops, etc. inquiries welcome. [bike and non-bike items],
I may also trade assist on some big ticket items, however;
I will not buy or accept a bike - unless say at a
legitimate government auction/sale - where the serial no.
has been compromised, altered or removed. For your [&
mine] piece of mind, whenever possible & practical; I
check a bike serial no. at a national bike registry
database on bikes that I buy]), please e-mail pics first
& if you are thinking of buying or bidding on a bike -
keep in mind that ANY problem history (if any) that I'm
aware off will always be mentioned in the discription.
Also some folks have asked me lately why my freight is a
little high; Well to help you answer that question I
include a HANDLING FEE in every SHIPPING & HANDLING
(S&H) price. For bikes this fee is a flat $26 (on some
bikes it is $36 due to added weight, accessories, etc.)
& for other items it's variable, as well as the
diffrence between the Wholesale & Retail shipping rate
[also know as Daily Rate & On Demand Rate] it's there
to cover my time (or a packaging companys svc. fees &
packing supplies [also contrary to popular belief;
Cardboard boxes; such as my cardboard bike boxes, for
example usually are NOT free & usually DO cost me
money.]) if item sells to help prepare item for shipment
(& bikes must be dissasembled to keep shipping
reasonable. and packing providers{ such as Mail Boxes Etc.
[now the UPS Store] generally WILL NOT disassemble an item
such as a bike) furthermore MY ITEM is up for AUCTION -
NOT MY ADDITIONAL LABOR involved or the labor of those who
occasionally work for me (by the way to
calculate BICYCLE shipping costs, please use the UPS
shipping calculator [same rates for UPS] (where available
or see the item description for a flat S&H fee) MY ZIP
IS 02536 I usually ship
UPS (www.ups.com
[unfortunately DHL dropped their US Ground Service]),
sometimes FedEx (www.fedex.com) usually w/ in 2 weeks after
payment is received [since I have to drive rather far to a
drop off center and due to the cost of gas I now ship all
Oversize Class packages that way in lots and generally
need atleast 12 packages to make the trip viable, but
still smaller packages going UPS may ship out weekly - for
this reason all Oversize items like bikes, most exercise
equipment, industrial equipment, outboard motors, engines
& the like are listed once every 7 - 12 months -
around the middle of the month so I can ship out in lots
of 12 or more, usually in May or in December]. Also a
standard issue adult size bike box (w/ some variations)
measures L 51 - 56" X W 8 - 9" X H 29" or the shorter and
wider L 42 - 46" X W 11 - 13" X H 29 - 31" (which I often
use and allows me to ship a bike much of the time w/ the
pedals & stem installed - thus making reassembly
easier) Also these bike boxes are
designed to just barley fit one bike in WITHOUT
accessories & have little room for anything
else (except the Shorter & Wider Cannondale
type bike box; but then the added labor involved to pack
down or dissassemble 2 bikes to ship together will offset
any cost savings in shipping together for a discount,
although I reserve the right to ship 2 bikes together [if
you buy 2] for whatever reason I may have)
but then I still can't offer any
shipping discount on bikes - so please don't ask!
Also as far as shipping discounts for bikes & non bike
items, I rarley offer them, so please don't assume
anything - as 95% OF THE TIME I DON'T
OFFER SHIPPING DISCOUNTS (even if I choose to pack items
together) but if in doubt; please refer to the item
description or ask first, then to regret it later.
Other items I strive to enable shipping assembled or
require minimal reassembly, certain exercise equipment
like rowers, medical & special needs equipment like
wheelchairs, walkers, etc., Average shipping weight is 50
LBS though UPS and Fed Ex count it as dimensional weight
because of the above dimensions make such a package fall
under a "class 2 oversize" & the 70 LBS rate is often
billed. Nearly all my listings are on a
"Will Ship Only" basis meaning that they can only be
shipped, (& besides of way too many no shows)
but primarally due to many reasons (including but not
limited to) item(s) is / are being stored in a facility
not equipped for retail sales, item(s) is / are dropped
shipped from outside source, shipping is the most cost
effective option for buyer &/or seller - sorry NO
PICKUPS on those item(s)
Also locally my bikes (on those sold as tuned meaning
Fully Tuned not Basic Tuned, Checked, Project, or the like
[no warranty or function guarantee on those]) as well as
"Tuned" in general, are covered by a 7 -
60 day rim to rim warrenty
(depending on selling price of bike & except on tires,
tubes, cables & housing [locally due to the salty
ocean air] perishable items such as brake shoes etc.,
Accident, abuse, stunt riding, racing, entering the bike
in any sanctioned event (such as a race), improper use,
neglect, problems as result of other riders riding, using
etc., improper installation / assembly (by buyer(s)),
resale to another person(s), normal wear & tear, etc.
Furthermore; I fully reserve the right to "fix it or
replace it" (& if replacement is required & the
above criteria is met; Then I'll replace part or bike at
my discretion w/ one of equal or lesser value {& w/
one of the same or different make, model or type depending
on what I have on hand.) Also you may may have additional
factory guarantee(s) [often lifetime on frame(s) &
often fork(s)- please check w/ maker of your bike(s)].
Finally many of my item(s) (on many bikes & mostly on
complete or nearly complete bikes sold as framesets or as
repairables [w/ freebie components-if any] are sold as
"Checked" or inspected for visual problems but in either
untuned &/or unrepaired &/or unrestored condition
(& not meant to be ridden untill tuned or serviced by
a qualified bicycle technician)on these I usually offer no
warranty [even locally] except if so mentioned (an then
only on the frame in limited circumstances). These however
I usually start at $49.95 w/ NO RESERVE & allow the
open market to determine the final price & value.
Also a note on my "May Ship Without Some Items" disclaimer
on most BIKES SOLD AS UNTUNED/UNRESTORED, CHECKED or
some sold as BASIC TUNED & NOT FULLY TUNED so;
please note that though attempt will be made to ship a
bike as shown in pictures, I may; ship without some
item(s) (or do what it takes to pack down in a bike box)
if I deem that those items(s) should in any way inhibit
shipping, or would need excessive work to remove. for
instance;
on some listings I may take off (And may even sortoff
destroy some accessories [like removing a rack w/ a bolt
cutter or snip a fender strut, if I find that a fitting
retaining it is stripped, frozen, or the like]) anything
where I encounter problems when disassembling (mostly
pertaining to accessories like lights, cyclcomputer wires,
racks & fenders) & applicable in only about 3% of
the cases on most bikes that I sell as Checked, you see
when I get a bike I do a quick checkup of the frame, fork,
spin wheels, check pedals, stem, seatpost & the like;
but I don't check individual fittings retaining
certain accessories like fenders, racks (or sell &
ship baskets for instance - even if pictured on the
bike) because bike boxes are designed for just the
bike & rarely have room for anything more), etc. &
the like unless a bike is sold as fully
Tuned, you see I do this since I want to start as
many bikes out at as low as possible w/ NR as I can, but
in doing so; I must cut down my labor spent on a bike down
to a minimum, (sorry for any inconvenience).
Most bikes (those that close above $150 w/S&H),
frames, most forks, most wheels, are usually packed by me,
other components & other items are often packed by me
as well. So rest assured a pro boxed your bike (or in the
under $150 range a trained [by me or a bikeschool] bike
technician did) & when your bike arrives; Feel free to
call me (I provide my buss. cell phone to winning &
screened bidders, browsers.) so I can
help you with reassembly (IT'S EASY & JUST ABOUT
ANYONE CAN DO IT!!) Please note that most bikes
nowadays use metric fasteners & use of standard (SAE)
tools will result in unfavorable results. No need to worry
as your reassembly tools will usually be: METRIC 4,5,&
6mm "L shape" allen wrenches, a good adj.(Creasent)
wrench; I recommend Sears Craftsman 8" (A good pedal
wrench would be better - but the creasent will do.), 10"
slip joint pliers, & CV 13,14,15mm sockets &/or
combination wrenches. With that setup - on Tuned bikes -
you should be up & riding in no
time!!
If there is a private listing, its because I want your
user ID to remain hidden from view (the moral here is; bid
only if you want the item(s) & are willing to pay for
it/them when won, otherwise ~ ~ if you just want your
friends to see you as the high bidder [they won't] then
don't bid!), other items I may leave public as determined
by the item.
Payment methods:
Pay Pal is now offered/generally accepted as a method of
payment on MOST listings. However, please be advised that
they also prevent (again from what I'm hearing) certain
transactions (such as having to do with purchasing adult
material; which Pay Pal prohibits). Other item(s) such as
on some catagories I MAY or MAY NOT
accept PayPal as a payment method as well as on those of a
adult nature - per Pay Pal policy) Personally I feel that
this is a free country and it's all about personal choice.
What we buy should be our own decision and only ours .,
However as an added convenience (as well as to help
prevent deadbeats) I accept Pay Pal payments on most
items.
On catagories where Pay Pal isn't allowed such as adult and pornographic
nature, I also accept US Postal Money Orders that you buy at your local post
office (please email for pic of one) and cash for pickups.
Also understand that I allow only
bidders / buyers w/ a Pay Pal account [even if other
payment method is accepted] to bid on and buy ONLY if a
buyer has a PayPal account since besides of validating
age; statistics show that folks w/ Pay Pal accounts, have
a 80% greater chance of paying up, then folks that don't)
A NOTE TO BIDDERS / BUYERS: some of you have sent me
personal checks, cashiers checks, moneygrams, other types
of money orders, etc. PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT; I ACCEPT
PAYPAL, ocasionally POSTAL MONEY ORDERS (and CASH ONLY on pickups) (OTHER TYPES
OF PAYMENT WILL BE VOIDED [ripped apart], RETURNED [not
responsible for lost returns]) if you can't comply don't bid OR
buy & understand also that I have NO shortage
(although mostly seasonally) of customers locally &
some from far away who ARE MORE THAN HAPPY TO PAY BY THE 3
PRIMARY METHODS DESCRIBED ABOVE (afterall as they say "if
it ain't broke don't fix it" & doing so
allows me to offer more "killer deals"
w/ low or NO RESERVE OR "Buy It Now" (BIN) often at
55-80%(or more!) OFF REGULAR RETAIL
PRICES!!)
Also please understand that the act of
bidding or buying under "Buy It Now"{[BIN] is a contract
once you place a bid or buy under BIN; You are obliqated
to fufill the transaction & pay for the item(s) once
the auction (if you are the winning bidder) or BIN listing
closes, Furthermore; DEADBEAT BIDDERS; Besides being given
the opportunity to scroll below for upto a quarter; WILL
BE REPORTED, LOCKED OUT FOR LIFE, etc., So bid only if
serious & you are ready to pay if won.
As
far as religious beliefs I'm apparently disallowed to state mine but shouldn't
be too hard to guess :) although I take offense to those buyers and sellers
that blatantly violate eBay policies and state "God Bless", depict
crucifixes, and refer to Jes*s as God (without any proof to back that statement up),
yet, are rarely, if ever persecuted by eBay since we Sat*nists are always fodder
for those groups. still I'm a strong believer in Karma, hence the name "Bikekarma.com"
and do I have to mention the 3 fold law of the universe as to what you
put out will come back at you [for better or worse] 3 times? (regardless of
your beliefs) ~ food for thought...
Feedback:
Positive
feedback is left only after (paying) winning bidder/buyer
leaves a Positive comment with high 5 star DSR ratings. I like (and
deserve)
positive feedback (who dosen't?; afterall this is work ~ not welfare [that I'd
rather collect]!) even if my service and item deserves a negative
with 1 or 2 star dsr ratings (which are not secret as I watch them closley for
fluctuations) Also for sellers that I buy items from; rest assured
that if I'm satisfied w/ the item, I will always leave a
positive [or equal feedback] w/ high 5 star DSR ratings for
you regardless if you leave one for me.
Why are you such a jerk?
Well for starters I'm not tring to be one, but I am overworked, underpaid, understaffed, and would rather be sunning/bumming on the beach, riding my bikes, cruising my Mopar van
(above, 249k miles ~ runs like new), getting laid, being a sloth (which might
bring me closer to MY God =) and living of my site begbucks.com &/or some fat social program, than slave here on eBay, having no life when I do, selling you goodies, and work for a living ~ catch my drift?
You
see I do eBay to make a few bucks, put food on the table, etc. and I can't
afford losses like the big sellers to offset what I don't get donated (begbucks.com),
charity, and for lack of socialism I sell stuff ranging from pure junk
to some real treasures but that's for you to decide.
Really I couldn't care less about the usefuleness of much of my
non-bike stuff [as well as some low end bikes] but if it has value, I got it
cheap, or free [and in case it was free like a salvage find; consider what you
pay a "Finder's Fee" for my trouble], chances are, I'll list it once
and see what happens.
While I specialize in bikes and fitness; I'll sell ~ as a
liquidator (and Buy, Trade, Dumpster Dive for, etc.,) etc., but please note; that
items MUST HAVE A Fair Market Value [FMV] when new ~ of

Happy hunting from Dans Bike
Bike Sales Unique Acquisitions - Home of auctions with NO
Reserve!!BTW a note on my
listings; since I now ship out in Lots, I also list in
lots as well [whenever I have atleast 90 - 150+ items to
list] and as such I usually list around the middle of a
month when I list, usually once every 7 -12 months [next
listing cycle is scheduled for April 6 2010] based on the
volume I have available to make my subsequent shipping
trips viable as most items I ship out via FED EX or UPS now due
to the fact that DHL; I'm sad to say has dropped their
Ground Service so they are no longer an option] and the
nearest Staffed Fed Ex or UPS drop off center [besides a more
expensive local retail outlet] is a 86 mile RT trip on
backroads :) Finally should you wish to tip me [for
outstanding service;] please feel free to click the Pay
Pal Donate Button below the PP seal w/ your gratuity &
Thanks in advance!
