I am fortunate that my lifelong passion - science and research - is at the same time my profession. I live comfortably as a university professor of chemistry and researcher with international reputation. My second passion is collecting contemporary art. Some of it is American, but most of it comes from Serbia, a European country that was a part of former Yugoslavia. I collect works by top Serbian painters, printmakers, and sculptors. Some of "my" artists are at the beginning of their careers, and I believe in them. Most of the artists in my collection have won multiple national honors and awards and have had numerous solo shows, including exhibitions in major public galleries and museums. Many of them have international reputations, having exhibited at Venice Biennial, for example. Some of them are well known, especially in Europe.

I am a collector, not an investor or a dealer. I collect for fun, and I sell for fun more than profit. With  regular  purchases  and occasional sales, I shape my collection according to my evolving interests. I sell items from time to time  not because they are bad but because their authors are already well represented in my collection. Proceeds of the sales help me obtain works by new authors.
