Denise (that's me) has been working with needlecrafts for around 36 years. I started trying to create my own yarn colors when I was about 8 years old after going on a nature hike at Mendon Ponds Park. The tourguide pointed out a bush, women used to make a purple dye. Needless to say, I flung my peanutbutter sandwhich to the squirrels and started collecting berries to take home. I used the smooshed berries, markers and water colors, in an attempt to make colors I wanted.

Later, in my 20's, I discovered actual dyes and the rest is history. I've never been satisfied with just using what was available by the industry.

I'm interested in all types of needlework from knitting, crocheting, embroidery, counted cross stitch, needlepoint, crewel, quilting, sewing, shuttle tatting, spinning and seed beading. I someday want to learn porcelain doll making.

Since, I'm no longer able to work outside the home, due to severe chronic pain episodes related to an injury, it was suggested to me that others might be interested in the threads and yarn that I dye for myself.

Due to recent illness, from Labor Day Weekend until approximately the beginning of November, I've been having many problems. This involved severe reactions to medication changes, as well as the added confusion of my grown daughter living with me.
