What can you tell me about Read’Em Again Books?
Read’Em Again Books is actually just me (I'm the big guy in the photo; the little one is my granddaughter, who wanted to help me catalog some books after I got home from work one afternoon), and my name is Kurt Sanftleben.
I first started buying and selling collectible books in 1992 as a hobby. At the time I was on active duty, serving as an Army officer at the joint command located in Norfolk, Virginia. I retired from active duty in 1994, and I now serve as a Vice-President of the Marine Corps University, located in Quantico, Virginia, and I'm still selling books.
After I jumped on the eBay bandwagon in 1999, my sales increased considerably, and I decided to open an on-line book store, Read'Em Again Books, and start selling at regional book fairs and antique shows. I now do about a dozen fairs or shows each year, primarily within the Atlantic Coast region. I don’t have an open store, but I welcome customers by appointment; if you are going to be in Northern Virginia and would like to browse through my stock, please contact me to set up a visit.
I am a member of the Independent On-Line Booksellers Association (IOBA), Virginia Antiquarian Booksellers Association (VABA), Washington Antiquarian Booksellers Association (WABA), the Moveable Book Society, and the American Philatelic Society (APS).
I often get asked if Read’Em Again Books has a "specialty." The truth is that there really isn’t one. I buy and sell things I like. Generally that includes hard-to-find titles in children’s series, photoplays, fairy tales, illustrated books, pop-ups and moveable books, scouting items, and unusual or hard to find non-fiction, especially baseball and other sports, cooking, and military. I also usually have some pulp magazines, postcards, maps, prints, stamps, and stereoviews available for sale.
You can visit Read'Em Again Books on-line or at one of the many book fairs or antique shows I exhibit at each year. You will find a list of my upcoming fairs and shows at my Read'Em Again Books homepage. |
