I lived for many years in Calgary Alberta, home of the largest outdoor rodeo on earth. It attracts over a million people a year and runs for 10 days. One year they had a contest for Wild Western Shirts. Since I have done so many I finally got talked into entering and the following photo is of my 3rd place win. There were 49 entries. This is a quilting technique called flying geese and took me almost 24 hours of straight sewing to accomplish. There is a seed bead strip down each side of the pleats and a beaded fringe around the bottom of the free hanging yoke.
