We’re what most folks would call a “Mom and Pop Shop”. While Poppa’s off at his day job, Momma works from our home office. She spends most of her time “manning” the computer after getting “Little Man” off to Kindergarten.
Our first encounter with eBay was BID - BID - BID! We both got reeled in on those bidding wars! Before we knew it… we had out grown our storage space. LIGHT BULB #1 – let’s sell a few of these “old things” so we can buy “new to us old things”.
After a trip to the Doctor’s Office, we found out “Little Man” was on his way. Being new parents, we vowed NOT to let daycare and some stranger raise our son. If he was going to be warped, we wanted to be the ones doing the warping – (LOL). Now mind you, we both worked and made the big bucks, not to mention the bills that go along with it. So what are we going to do now? LIGHT BULB #2 – Momma’s gonna quit her 10-hour-work-day job with benefits (retirement, 401K, paid vacation / insurance) and work from home - - new baby (24 -7- 365 / 366 if you count leap year). What were we thinking??? (still asking that question)
To say the least, we’re happy (as of this writing – subject to change, without warning). It sure has been more of an adventure than we first imagined, but the benefits of hands-on parenting have made all the difference – (our opinion). “Little Man” knows an awful lot about eBay... just ask him, he LOVES to talk!!!
NO, we don’t expect to get rich doing this eBay thing, but it is fun and puts a few bucks in “Little Man’s” college fund.
Now down to the fine print of things…
We promise to:
Accurately describe each item (flaws and all) to the best of our ability. NO, we don’t claim to be experts - - just honest, hard-working folks.
Securely package your item for shipping. We pack each item the way we would want it shipped to us… (We’ve encountered some “lazy” shippers).
Provide low, cost efficient shipping prices. Each shipping price does include a small $1.00 handling fee… this will NOT make us rich, it helps off-set the cost of: bubble-wrap, tape, markers, etc.
Keep shipping time to a minimum. We despise delays… when you purchase something on-line, it’s because you want it and you want it without having to wait… We totally understand!
Extend friendly service. We want you to know each and every purchase is important to us because it’s important to you!
RETURN POLICY: Returns accepted on a case by case basis. We know this seems a little corny to most folks but after we explain, you’ll understand why….
Jane Doe was hosting Thanksgiving Dinner for the first time. “Oh no, I have 14 people scheduled to eat and I only have 12 plates. What’s a girl to do? Look on eBay of course!”
Jane Doe purchased 2 expensive place-settings to round out her fine china pattern. The china arrived just in time for Thanksgiving, Jane’s guests all marveled at how beautiful the table looked… beaming with pride, Jane had totally out done herself.
HOWEVER, the following Monday, Jane repackaged the 2 place-settings for return shipping to the eBay merchant, all the while complaining the “color” didn’t quite match her other pieces.
The merchant gladly accepted the return, as it was explained that the “horrible color difference” simply embarrassed Jane and she was forced to use “Chinet” on Thanksgiving.
Upon opening the returned box, the eBay merchant found several plates with Jane’s famous Turkey and Dressing dried to the surface. Ole Jane pulled one over on said merchant. (If I was going to make a federal case out of the color difference, I would have at least washed the plates.)
While we understand the world is NOT full of Jane Doe’s, we have politely stated returns will be accepted on a case by case basis. Thanks for understanding!
