Life as a Trader
The Himalayan Traders started in 1990 as a way to have 'right livelihood' as a Buddhist layperson. I specialize in Tibetan Sacred Objects, Antique Textiles, and anything fun I find while traversing the globe. We try to find rare treasures that are inspirational and transformative. After 3 years of learning and 600 pictures we finally got a 'state of the art' website (www.himalayantraders.com) It combines lifestyle, spirituality, and an exceptional collection of Tibetan items. I really wanted it to be more than just products, so we have a Photo Gallery, Buddha Movie, & Buddhist Philosophy page.

We donate 30% of our website profits to the relief organization with links below. It is important to give back to Humanity and help our neighbors. We particularly like to support the Tibetans in appreciation of the Spiritual ideals they bring to the world.

I have been a meditator for almost three decades and a trader for one decade. My educational background is in Eastern Philosophy and Sociology. I became a trader, since there aren't many openings for Eastern Philosophers. I love trading. It give me a great cover to practice amatuer sociology when I travel. Trading also connects me with so many great people both in Asia and in America. It's much more of a lifestyle than a job! Ebay is heaven for the weary traveler. In past years, I would drive about 20,000 miles across America to over 100 stores. Now, with Ebay and our new website, I pad into the home office with slippers and a mug of coffee to check email instead of hitting the highway. Thank God for big favors!
