Who is Laura Dye, LDear 1960?

Everyone has to start somewhere and go through the learning process. I found in the beginning, that my city’s Public Library held a wealth of information, and it was all free! Of course, there’s nothing that takes the place of good hands-on learning. Classes are offered at many community colleges and Art Museums, as well as at YMCA’s, churches, and bead shops.  I was blessed to have my family jeweler take a special interest in me as a mentor, and his help was immeasurable.

So what else would you like to know about me? I am a Mother, a (ahem... very young...) Grandmother! >) I live way out in the middle of country, of SC with three rather wonderful  Shelties (Shetland Sheepdogs), Maggie (Mary Magdalene) and Dooney; ( a VERY RARE Brindle Mahogny!) who are now twenty months old, and Shelby; a six year-old Sable Merle who joined our family in August. Smudge, who used to think of himself as CAT KING OF EVERYTHING; is considering changing his title to "He who Runs from Shelties!" My fur family (with the exception of Smudge the Cat, were all adoptees of Peach State Sheltie Rescue , and I am an active Canine Rescue Volunteer.   I love to garden when I am not beading or working on my Store, and I am a mezzo soprano, but I enjoy singing in several bands with different music venues. Before my untimely medical retirement, I was a licensed insurance agent. I collect Vintage Jewelry and I have always loved to ‘craft,’ so blending the two into my current career was not too difficult an adjustment! Being a Child of God, I am bound to live by certain values which I feel only enhance my customer’s buying experiences in my Store. While I expect buyers to be accountable to uphold their commitments to purchase and pay for their winnings, my clients always know they will get incredible value from any item they purchase from LDear1960 Jewelry Making Supplies. I am committed to fair prices and honest counts. If I advertise an item; that item and that quantity is exactly what you should receive. I am a human being however; and occasionally, an incorrect item may get switched in the packing process. Should one of these rare occurrences happen, I need to know about it right away! I will send your corrected item to you the following business day, at no additional cost to you. (Out of over 7,000 transactions, this has happened perhaps about even or eight times. Not too bad of odds! ) I used to think my ultimate goal will be realized when I open my first retail Jewelry Making Supplies Store. I’m not so sure anymore that "outside retail" is for me... Selling on eBay is a wonderful resource and a great experience for any person thinking of getting into a retail business. I've come to love the flexibility of making my own hours, being able to volunteer when needed, and working in my "own uniforms". (Sometimes it's my PJ's!)  My clients' feedback is extremely important to me. It is not just the "Positive" rating of which I am very proud, I really want to know  what my customers think of the items I sell, the quality I stock, and the service I provide. Of course, I would prefer if you have any negative thoughts that you write them to me prior to posting your public feedback, so that I might have an opportunity to resolve your challenges. I love the personal notes and letters I get from my happy customers! They really make my day. I do read each one of them, and I try to respond promptly to every one I receive. It really helps me to know your ideas for the store, and I am very interested in the supplies which you may need that I may not have thought of stocking yet. Keep those cards and letters coming!
