About Me
I am primarily a stamp collector (philatelist) although I do occasionally sell other collectible items. I am a member in good standing of the APS (#198377) and am retired. I reside on the Gulf Coast of Florida and have been a stamp collector since 1945. I am NOT a dealer. I have changed my collecting preferences over the last few years and now specialise in G.B. and selected colonies pre-1950. This change in collecting habits has resulted in my selling off large parts of my collection that are no longer compatible with my interests.Many items I am selling have been filed for years and have been checked by me so the descriptions may be from the original owner. On occasion I pick up items at local stamps shows to sell on eBay. I sell mainly to add to my collection speciality. I have worked in the stamp trade for over 12 years on a part-time basis grading and writing up stamps and collections.My business background is a senior executive in the management consulting and information systems fields for 40 years.Grading and Terms of Sale
I try to be as accurate as possible in my grading and descriptions, but mistakes happen. Sometimes the descriptions and catalog numbers are taken as received from the original lot lots I bought or traded for. I offer a 100% return privilege and refunds(excluding postage) on single items and small lots/sets, BUT NOT on collections. ***** PAYMENT IN FULL IS EXPECTED WITHIN 10 WORKING DAYS FROM AUCTION CLOSE, OTHERWISE NEGATIVE FEEDBACK WILL BE LEFT.***** I NO LONGER accept Paypal on EVERY international sale. THIS MEANS THAT THERE ARE CERTAIN COUNTRIES THAT, IN MY OPINION, DO NOT HAVE SUFFICIENTLY RELIABLE POSTAL SYSTEMS TO PERMIT ME TO TAKE THE RISK OF MAILING STAMPS TO A BUYER, WITHOUT REQUIRING REGISTERED MAIL WITH A RETURN RECEIPT. TO DATE, PROBLEM COUNTRIES ARE; ITALY, GREECE, BELGIUM, FRANCE, SOUTH AFRICA, EGYPT, RUSSIAN FEDERATION. Generally any Canadian,U.K., Australian, New Zealand, Central American, South American and other Western European buyers may use Paypal. You need to check with me before bidding if at all possible to determine if Registered Mail is required. I will accept Western Union BidPay on ALL sales(domestic and international). Insurance and registration is optional at the buyer's expense. Please note: Any buyer who wishes to pay for an auction in U.S. Dollars AND who DOES NOT use Paypal OR Bidpay, may take a 3% credit against the final auction price EXCLUDING S&H. It is solely up to the buyer to take this discount and I will NOT automatically deduct it from your invoice or send out reminders. I combine S&H whenever possible. On more expensive lots I reserve the right to use delivery confirmation and/or return receipt requested and/or a certificate of mailing which the buyer will pay for at cost. I will notify you ahead of time if this situation applies. I am not trying to make money on S&H; just to cover my expenses, materials and labor. All items become the buyer's property once they enter the mail or courier systems. I will accept no responsibility for the USPS, independent carriers or foreign postal systems! If you want tracking you must tell me ahead of time and I will quote my cost to you. I also accept personal checks, cashiers checks, money orders (domestic and international)and cash (YOUR RISK) in U.S. dollars.I can accept a bank transfer if necessary. I do NOT accept credit cards directly. Email me anytime with questions. I check my email frequently during the day and evening, and respond promptly.
