Ignorance is Liberties disease; Knowledge is the Cure
"A popular Government without popular information or the means of acquiring it, is but a Prologue to a Farce or a Tragedy or perhaps both. Knowledge will forever govern ignorance, and a people who mean to be their own Governors, must arm themselves with the power knowledge gives." James Madison
For one to engage in informed political and government discourse, one needs to know what defines how government operates, and from where it (government) derives it’s authority and how it must operate.
The Authority for government comes from the people and the framework for government is the Constitution of the United States of America. The Constitution is the Peoples contract with government giving certain limited and restricted powers to the government and, binds government officials to that contract (the Constitution) by the oath of Office prescribed in the Constitution for the United States of America in Article 2 Section 1 and Article 6 Clause 3.
Americans have no excuse for not knowing the Constitution today for there are more avenues to access information than ever before. However, educating oneself about political and government issues and the Constitutionality of them should be the first priority of every American who wishes to remain a free and sovereign nation and person. Nothing is more important than preserving Liberty for ourselves and our posterity; we must start to reeducate ourselves again on the principles that America was founded on.
Complacency is not an option for a free People. Patrick Henry had this to say: We are apt to shut our eyes against a painful truth, and listen to the song of that siren till she transforms us into beasts. Is this the part of wise men, engaged in a great and arduous struggle for liberty? Are we disposed to be of the number of those who, having eyes, see not, and, having ears, hear not, the things which so nearly concern their temporal salvation? For my part, whatever anguish of spirit it may cost, I am willing to know the whole truth; to know the worst, and to provide for it. What has happened to Americans that we wish not to take the road of truth? Why do we lull ourselves into a slumber and only complain when things seem to be wrong but we haven’t educated ourselves to know why they are wrong? Why did Americans let our great nation slip to the wolves and make ourselves sheep? Nothing is more certain than that a general profligacy and corruption of manners make a people ripe for destruction. A good form of government may hold the rotten materials together for some time, but beyond a certain pitch, even the best constitution will be ineffectual, and slavery must ensue. John Witherspoon
Americans have created their ignorance by gathering way too much misinformation from the TV and radio rather than reading and learning what the Founding Fathers intended for this country and put down on paper for all to know the truth. Because political debates and discussion today mostly consist of an element of struggle between 2 differing power hungry groups, instead of the veracity of the facts, they are marked by ad hominem argument and personal attacks and the death and destruction of Life, Liberty, Property and Freedom.
Here are the Facts:
The Constitution is the supreme law of the land.
The People are the Authority over government.
The Bill of Rights are Declatory and Restrictive clauses added to the Constitution, telling government that they have no authority to change, alter or abolish the Rights of the People.
We as Americans have the responsibility and duty to know the Constitution and to protect and defend it from those who wish to destroy it.
America’s form of government is not a Democracy, it is Republican as per the Constitution for the United States of America Article 4 Section 4.
“Knowledge will forever govern ignorance, and a people who mean to be their own Governors, must arm themselves with the power knowledge gives." James Madison
Ask yourself this Question Patrick Henry asked and se what side of the fence your on, Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? I for one say absolutely not.

Real Family values
“The foundation of national morality must be laid in private families. . . How is it possible that Children can have any just Sense of the sacred Obligations of Morality or Religion if, from their earliest Infancy, they learn their Mothers live in habitual Infidelity to their fathers, and their fathers in as constant Infidelity to their Mothers?” John Adams
The family is the most important unit of our nation. Without strong morals and virtues, education and families functioning free of government interference, freedom and America will not survive. The lack of clear and certain moral standards has lead to the increasing decay in our families and society.
What makes a strong family that possesses good family values? First you must start with the Father and Mother who are the most influential people in a child’s life from conception to adulthood. God created marriage as the unity of one man and one woman. Sadly, many radical activist groups are attempting to twist God’s law to change the definition of marriage and the family to include same-sex marriage. These groups hate the idea that there is a fixed or known set of values that is generally good for families. The father and mother set the standards in a strong family, good parents lead by example. A very important thing for families to teach their children is how to make good decisions. If they have watched their parents making well thought out decisions over the years, they will tend to be good decision makers themselves. A healthy, happy family benefits our whole society. Among the children of strong families there is less crime, less divorce and less emotional problems. They tend to go on and have strong, healthy families of their own, having learned from their parents example. There must be structure in the family or it will become chaotic. Families that tend to have a strong spiritual base seem to have a sense of well-being that facilitates working together in good times and bad. Another very important factor is the relationship between the father and mother. A happy marriage seems to set the tone in the house. It spills over from the family to the community and a healthy family will be reaching out to help others.
“Since private and publick Vices, are in Reality, though not always apparently, so nearly connected, of how much Importance, how necessary is it, that the utmost Pains be taken by the Publick, to have the Principles of Virtue early inculcated on the Minds even of children, and the moral Sense kept alive, and that the wise institutions of our Ancestors for these great Purposes be encouraged by the Government. For no people will tamely surrender their Liberties, nor can any be easily subdued, when knowledge is diffusd and Virtue is preservd. On the Contrary, when People are universally ignorant, and debauchd in their Manners, they will sink under their own weight without the Aid of foreign Invaders.” Samuel Adams
Educating our youth is a full time job. It doesn’t end when they are done with their daily school work. To educate and raise our children properly, we as responsible parents should be ever so vigilant to teach them how to be good, moral and virtuous people, and again we do this by our own example and teaching them right from wrong. For this to be truly successful we as well as our children need a strong religious belief.
Some parents, out of a fear of giving their children wrong beliefs fail to provide them with any moral, political, or religious guidance. Though this decision may be well motivated, it is usually disastrous for the child. If a child is not taught any substantive beliefs they come to believe that ideas, beliefs, values, and morals are irrelevant. If not introduced to these things by their parents the child might think "If these things are important, why haven't my parents taught me these beliefs?" If a parent teaches their children religious, political, and moral views, then the child will learn a vital lesson, namely, that one's beliefs and ideas are not insignificant; they are essential parts of who and what they are.
If a child is brought up in a home without parental instruction, the child fails to acquire an initial set of beliefs. When confronted with opposing views later in life, an individual raised without parental instruction will likely fall to immoral and bad decisions, since they have no strongly held beliefs, the alternatives don't conflict with anything they deem important.
Young people are taught in our public schools today that ethics, morals, right and wrong, depend upon the situation. Teachers use the concept of Values Clarification to instruct students that their desires represent valid moral and ethical values. Parents are also failing miserably in their teaching, or lack there of.
Morality is important in all areas of society. It is critical that in education children are taught moral and ethical values that provide lasting benefits. Today's public school educational system and parents have failed. Our public schools are exposing our children to explicit sex education materials contrary to parental approval; they are denying parents the right to raise their children before God as they see fit and, as the Constitution gives us the right. They are weakening the family and undermining the values that support it. This will ultimately destroy our society.
Consider the following:
Every day in the United States of America:
- Teenagers contract sexually transmitted diseases
- Teenagers unintentionally become pregnant
- Teenagers who didn't intend on becoming pregnant obtain abortions
- Adolescents begin drinking alcohol
- Adolescents begin using illicit drugs
- Crimes are committed on school campuses
There are two basic philosophies of ethics.
- One adheres to an objective standard of right and wrong. These may be the principles one encounters in the Ten Commandments, the wise proverbs of Ben Franklin, or other principles of living.
- The other views right and wrong as fluid and changing depending on the situation and the desired outcome. This is the philosophy of much of today’s society.
These Views of morality affect our health and safety, they affect crime, they affect business, they affect government, and they affect your future. It is vitally important that our families and our religious institutions pick up the slack and re-establish basic moral principles among our people.
