The whimsical art of Tammy Strum

Hi there! Welcome to my world and my creations. Thank you for sharing with me a small part of my life and art. I have been a working artist for 30 years. I come from a family of artists.My mother is our inspiration. We were always making things at home and watching my mom paint by the hour and creating intricate paintings was always fascinating. I treasure this inherited talent and can't imagine life with out it. I love all mediums, and paint,sculpt and carve. My favorite though is sculpting! In these past few years it has become a passion to create Halloween and Christmas pieces. I love to make things for family and friends. Now that I have begun to sell on eBay, I am amazed at how personal and gratifying it is to sell to the public. Already, many of you have become friends. It is humbling that my work is so appreciated and how wonderful it is to be bring joy to others. When I create, I try to bring a touch of the extraordinary to my work. Something different and unusual and something that brings a smile to your face. I constantly look to do different things each time so it is always a little unexpected. I especially love wooden items and I am always on the look out for something old that I can re-purpose. I belong to two Halloween artist groups and they are a source of inspiration and support. Ha31 and AHQU artists create some amazing stuff mainly in the Halloween genre. I don't think most people realize that they can find original art here for very little money. So much we see today is mass produced and poorly so in foreign countries. It makes it hard for artists here in America to make a living. When you buy from them you really are supporting art in our country and keeping it alive for future generations. I have lived in Montana most of my life. A beautiful place to live and raise our family. My children are grown and I have been married for over 32 years to the love of my life. I also love gardening and we have a large vegetable garden as well. Gardening to me is much like creating art. You have a blank canvas in which to create. It is so relaxing and peaceful. Our family is the most important things in our lives. Thank you for sharing with me and I hope you enjoy some of the pictures of my past work. Take care, Tammy
