I live in Florida where the sun always shines and the water clear blue, yet hurricanes can be deadly and lightning is exciting and frequent. Inspiration is everywhere.
After leaving Art School , I worked as a drafting/interior designer's assistant, window display designer using my own life size fashion illustrations, graphic artist, doing news paper illustrations (free lance), makeup artist, hairstylist and even a photo lab tech. I also studied at the U.S.F College of Engineering thinking I was meant to invent...I have much respect for inventers but it wasn't me. After my third year I realised I still craved creativity. I finally found satisfaction when I decided to take a leap of faith and become a self-representing artist. Wow what a blast! What took me so long? Deep down I think we all know what is good for us we just sometimes take longer journeys getting there. I guess I wanted to take the scenic route.
My inspiration is everywhere, going for a walk, waking at night and just breathing fresh air.
As I evolve and change so does my art. I see art as a craft to master and yet I am driven by an unexplainable and all empowering need for self-expression.
I paint my fairies and mythical magical beings. I paint with the thought of capturing the elusive, indescribable and undefined energy that guides me ,can sometimes scare me but never fails me.
